bravo dude. you could have easily gotten defensive there, but you seem pretty level headed about the cards and your pack. welcome to the board.

Change that screen name to AWRules* and he'll be in like Flint.

*Don't forget that other great secondary player is also AW, Aeneas Williams.

100 misses over the years and hit on two DBs with the initials AW. That's my Cards.

Right on, I forgot a 100 posts = avatar (short term memory guy here). I always load them from what ever I saved on my desktop (User CP up at the top has it) . It took me months to find the right one and stick with it, good luck. :)

ARodg I do like your style, I can't blame people for who they root for, but I can admire the way a good fan roots for his. You know your football. I still think the Steelers (and I hate them) are gonna wipe the floor with GB.

I will bet you avatars for a month Pittsburgh wins....before you accept, please look at the avatar you will have to rock for 31 days. I will pretty much accept most any avatar you choose if the Packers win. I am a Card fan, I can handle it. :)

Looks like you failed..

Ha, at least he'll have some affiliation with either school, as opposed to being a front running fanboy with no connection to either.

If you don't think the Cards need to fix the O-Line then God have mercy on your soul. Lutui is pretty good but other than that. . .

You must be registered for see images

Even if the Cards did bring in a stud QB I'd be freaking out about the fact that he's going to get killed a million times a game. 50 sacks in a season is down right terrible. If the Bears didn't have the worst offensive line in NFL history the Cards would have given up the most sacks in the league.

I think they need to upgrade the OL, but I think that the talent is there. A year ago, the OL was talented enough to win the NFC West. The only position that's likely to be replaced/upgraded this season is LG when Faneca retires and RG if Lutui leaves.

The terrible quarterback play (which you missed because you weren't following the team yet, but it was literally the worst quarterbacking seen in the NFL in maybe a decade) made the offensive line look worse than it was. Teams were relentlessly blitzing and the QBs couldn't do ANYTHING to make them pay. In the Raiders game last year, Larry Fitzgerald was matched up one-on-one with Kamerion Wimbley and Derek Anderson over threw him by 8 yards.

There is talent on the offensive line. Brandon Keith has promise; the team still believes in Levi Brown. Deuce Lutui has Pro Bowl ability and attitude. This is not the least talented offensive in the NFL. There's a scheme problem (IMO) and there's a quarterback performance problem.

The offense was sending 4 or even 5 WRs into patterns at times when the D was blitzing six or more players, and the QB couldn't find the open man. That's not on the OL's fault.

arodg, I appreciate that you want to be knowledgeable about the local team and are without a doubt NOT a troll and your football opinions are valued here, but dude, you gotta stop referring to the Cardinals in the "we" form. that just doesn't fly when you already have a team.

Agreed

What about this Alum? :cats:

ASU is the all time commuter school so Gee can rep who he wants. I like that he has a choice, and made the right one ;)

Arodg bit of advice. Being that my family lives in Tempe and I know the area well, don't spend TOO much time on this board at first. There are plenty of ready and willing ASU barflys who you would have to put about 5 minutes of conversation and a couple drinks worth of time into to enhance your collegiate experience.

BTW Aaron Rodgers is my favorite non Cardinal and I'll be pulling for you guys next Sunday. I see 3 TDs and a Super Bowl MVP in his future.

User CP in the blue menu right above. That will take you to avatar and signature editing. Might have to have 100 posts for avatar, which it seems like you do.

Yeah, I'm a Packers fan who just got into ASU, so I'm trying to get into the Cardinals, because I don't want to be one of those douche bags who just yammers on about how great my team is. I want to be able to talk intelligently about the local team.

OK you are in under one condition - you hate the Steelers as much as we all do for robbing us of our dream. We don't need any more company in our dismay so I would welcome extreme gloating from you if the Pack win on Sunday which most of this board hopes happens.

It is the OL problem when he has only 2 sec to throw before he gets hammered into the turf.
The only 3 that I would keep are Lutui, Keith and Sendlein. The rest can be upgraded.

But that's what happens when teams send seven and you only have 5 to block them. That's not a talent problem; that's a scheme and QB performance problem. 31 starting quarterbacks in the NFL find a way to make opposing defenses pay at least some of the time when that happens.

Warner has even said that he knew he would have little time to get the pass off as the Cards were sacrificing protection for extra Wide Receivers to attack the defense. So Warner was hit a lot but not sacked and the Cards did make defenses pay.
