After 3 years of discussions, it appears the NHL will amend the offside rule. Skate in the air...or breaking the plane is expected to be part of the change.

After 3 years of discussions, it appears the NHL will amend the offside rule. Skate in the air...or breaking the plane is expected to be part of the change.

If technology isn't a part of the solution, it will be a nightmare. If you move off the center of the blueline either direction, you won't be able to make the call and the location of the current cameras don't always give the right angle either. Something built into the boards at both ends of the blueline would need to be installed.

Bill Daly says he gave GMs a salary cap projection today for next season: the cap will be anywhere from $84 million to $88.2 million. The exact figure will be negotiated with the NHLPA.

Daly also revealed that in CBA negotiations with the NHLPA there has been talk of creating a multi year salary cap number(s) in order to provide more stability and allow teams to better plan ahead....
