There's a VERY heavy rumor that Artest is going to Dallas within the next few days. The sticker for most teams is that Sac wants to unload the contract SAR or Kenny T, most teams do not want to take those on.

Dallas and Sac are working on a Artest & Kenny Thomas for Stack, George (S&T), Jones, & Magloire (S&T) deal that is very close to being consimated. I'll keep you posted.

Hmm, on paper it will make Dallas the team to beat in whole NBA. A line up of Kidd, Josh Howard, Artest, Dirk, Dampier. Sounds scary ... And Kuban cares little about money and would open pocket for more bench support ...

But after all it is just on paper. Who knows what will actually happen when those guys play together? ...

From Rocky Mountain News:
Ron Artest expressed his desire to be traded earlier this week but would prefer not to land in Denver with the Nuggets, according to The Rocky Mountain News. "I cannot play in Denver because they question my drive to finish my career off strong and not embarrass my family," Artest wrote in an e-mail on Sunday night. "Any player wants to win a championship is low risk."
It's unknown who spoke unkindly about Artest within the organization, if anyone did at all, but he has made it rather obvious that he doesn't want to play for Denver.
"That's not even an option to be a Nugget," he added. "They let me know how they felt about me already."

From Sac Bee
Kings' co-owner Joe Maloof has made it very clear to Ron Artest that the organization wasn't happy with his public trade demands, according to The Sacramento Bee. "He has to balance the way he acts," Maloof said by phone. "He's got to control his emotions a little better. You've got to try and keep your cool a little bit."
"Take a deep breath and quit flying off the handle with comments that don't make sense. I hate to say it that way, but that's how I feel. It doesn't make sense to me."
Artest's latest public "outburst" came just six days after he apologized to the Kings for "being mistakenly frustrated" by their decision not to extend his contract.

Mavericks Say No To Artest-For-Josh Howard Offer

The Sacramento Kings have tried for a Ron Artest trade to Dallas in exchange for Josh Howard, but the Mavericks are not interested, the Dallas Morning News is reporting.

The Mavs were willing to give up Jerry Stackhouse and Brandon Bass for the former All-Star, but when the Kings wanted Howard in return the discussions ended, writes Brandon George.

The talk involving Artest and Lamar Odom of the Los Angeles Lakers also appears to have broken down while Phoenix and San Antonio are still interested.

According to Inside hoops that possibility is dead. Sacramento was demanding J-Ho. Mavs said no. Deal dead.

This will never happen. I think we are wasting our time even talking about it.

What does SA have to offer, they have no player the Kings would want, we could send either Diaw or Barbosa and a TE which they could use. If we want him we are in the driver's seat. I would even be wiling to take on either Thomas or SAR to get Artest.

Technically the Kings don't even have to deal him. Shoot if he was a free agent, I bet he would be a Laker right now. I am not saying that SA has anyone to offer. I am saying that Artest will not be a Sun this year. Don't get me wrong, I really REALLY hope I am wrong. but lets sit down and really think about it.

Plus not to mention, look at all the stuff that has been talked on this forum. Dragic, Lue, ect, all the guys that we talked about trying to get. Eveything has fallen through, we have not landed a deal. We were so positive about Dragic and Lue playing this year (maybe not so much Dragic, but there has been a lot of hope). But maybe we a little negativity will bring the opposite. haha.

I really do not intend to hold my breath.

We are not getting Artest.

If we did though, wow. I would consider us contenders.

Is that possible without seeing our coach..coach?

I'd rather see the Suns be chasing after John Salmons in a trade than Artest. I've heard he is on the market and he is cheaper. He could probably play the 1-3 positions in spurts.
