It is really hard to believe this has happened!! Artest has just been elevated to the biggest jerk in the NBA! I can not imagine what the Pacers will do now. They may have to keep him, who would give them anything for him know, with what he just did.

Its bad for the kings too. Peja thought he was being traded. He may ask for a trade now...

I would think there may be a way the Pacers could now suspend him without pay.
Unless, he has wording in his contract that he can reject a trade to certain teams.?

Wow, the Sacremento papers have been ripping Artest a newone and it seems like Sac fans really did not want Artest. I live in King land and even go to Sac games, I'm die hard Suns fan but love going to live NBA games, can't wait to see Artest play. But for the past month, the Sacremento Bee has been really ripping Artest, even on the Kings Pre-game shows they have said Sac will not touch Artest. I guess

I bet this had to do alot with him not wanting to come to SAC. ESPN hinted he wants to play for Warriors and speculated that Dunleavy, Calber Cheney, and draft pick is in the works!!!

I would love that trade because I hate Dunleavy and Calbert can go to a team where he will actually get some minutes...

Nope, all he did was inform the teams that he didn't want to play in Sac. He didn't refuse to report to Sacramento - had he did, they could have suspended him without pay.

To be honest, I think both teams are better that the trade fell through. I didn't really like it for either teams.

Dunleavy has a PPP in his contract now, it would have to be a much larger deal if he was included. The warriors are the team I really don't want him to go too, but I am pretty sure it will at least cost them Pietrus...

Well, I'm pretty sure Artest will be a Laker now; what other team could handle this much DRAMA?

The only way you could get him is by getting rid of Odom. And then you'll really have poor rebounding. ;)

I just check'd Realgm.com and the trade scenario only works if the Pacers throw in Jeff Foster in the deal:

Indiana Trade Breakdown

Outgoing
You must be registered for see images
Ron Artest
6-7 SF from St. John's 19.4 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 2.2 apg in 37.8 minutes
You must be registered for see images attach
Jeff Foster
6-11 C from Southwest Texas State
5.0 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 0.5 apg in 21.8 minutesIncoming
You must be registered for see images attach
Mike Dunleavy
6-9 SF from Duke
11.0 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 2.8 apg in 32.4 minutes
You must be registered for see images attach
Calbert Cheaney
6-7 SG from Indiana
1.8 ppg, 1.3 rpg, 0.4 apg in 10.4 minutesChange in team outlook: -11.6 ppg, -6.6 rpg, and +0.5 apg.
Golden State Trade
Successful Scenario

Due to Indiana and Golden State being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Indiana and Golden State had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out unless trade exceptions were used for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Hahah!

Well, I don't know if scrubs and draft picks to balance out a contract might now sound appealing to Donnie.

Boy, what a rollercoaster this one is on.

My prediction:

Bird and Walsh are going to get together with O'Neal and say, "Look. I know you're pissed at Artest, and you have every reason to be, but we have a franchise to run here. We can't trade him and we can't accomplish what we want to without more talent. Players don't have to like or even respect each other to be good teammates. I know you want to be part of a bright future for the Pacers, but the best way for us to accomplish that is to get Artest back on the floor. You're the leader of this team, and if you can work with him, everyone else will get in line behind him. We'll try to trade him again this summer, but we can't afford to be stuck like this any longer."

So when all that happens, you can say I called it. :p

I think Artest is going to Golden state, or possibly the Clips soon.

Then you can say I told you so...........:D

P.S. he could still go to the Kings!
