With all the hub-ub about Matt and his propensity for the party scene, how will he handle the biggest spotlight in pro football? The temptations will literally be at his fingertips in Tampa. My gut says he will indeed be able to avoid anything negative. Although, if he does get caught doing anything like his reputation suggests, then it is lights out for Matt.

He'll do nothing.

His "image" is pretty much a media creation, thanks to some stupid pictures of a young rich guy having some fun.

Hell, Jake Plummer grabbed some girls ass outside a Tempe club and was hit with a charge for it, and didn't get the kind of grief Matt does for having some skanks beer bong at his friggin house.

Yeah I missed where having a party at your house is the "party scene".

Geez guys... Do you have any idea how many athletes have parties at their houses, and we never know about it??
Matty made the stupid mistake of having his little beer-bong shindig with a bunch of young, immature coeds he didn't know too well. Who clearly were looking to exploit the fool, and guess what - they did!!
Matty effed up... nobody else. Not the media, not anyone who looks at the pictures and laughs... It's all on Matty...

The kid has learned a lot this past year. Hopefully, his learnings included how to be a playa, and not get caught!!!

;)

Did he really eff up though? I mean, come on. It was a ridiculously overblown media spectacle.

Yes, it was the media's fault for acting like it was something remotely important. It wasn't.

So we got treated to posts like "oh, he should have been studying the playbook" and crap like that.

Dude had skanks at his house. Big deal. Really. I can't even begin to imagine the types of skank treasures I'd have parading through my house if I were Matty...and it wouldn't affect my ability to play one bit..other than dead legs. ;)

Of course it's his fault Donald... The skanks were invited by him. The skanks then took the pictures and sold them (or gave them) to the media... I know you're not so naiive as to believe that the media would otherwise toss the pix in the garbage? That just because it was Matty, they decided to make it a big story?? C'mon dude...
The media did what they always do. This is all on Matty and as I said, hopefully he's learned to be a bit more discreet about who he decides to do beer bongs with... if not, you can rest assured we will see his mug with skanks once again. And again, it will ONLY be his fault...

I guess I don't see anything wrong with it in the first place. So the fact that the media made a big deal and posters were up in arms means I think THEY effed up, not Matt.

I think is was much ado about nothing. I also detest the media, so that probably helps my opinion.

Joe Namath is just happy there was no digital cameras, camera phones, Facebook or The Dirty back then.

See... this is the problem... making excuses for Matty....

So let me ask, if Tony Romo had a "party" with some very young coeds. And the coeds took pictures of Tony holding a beer bong while the coed sucked the other end, and then sent those pictures to the media - exactly what do you think the media would have done with those pictures?

That pretty much did happen, except the beer bong was Jessica Simpson's hand. And we all know what greatness came of that...

FWIW... I couldn't care any less about this issue...

But, I don't think it's appropriate to blame the media either... I hate the media, but they are who they are...

Have you ever loved anything or anyone as much as you love Matty? :D

Yes.

It goes:

1) Family
2) Friends/Girlfriend
3) Dog/Cardinals
4) Matt
5) God, UA, and Work:D

I might be loyal to a fault with him but I saw "it" in him in college after I saw him play ASU for the first time, watched him go to South Bend live and beat ND, and was sure who ever drafted him was getting the next big thing.

When the Cardinals drafted him it was like my birthday, xmas, a promotion, and winning the lottery all in one (Now I am getting all Tango on your ass ain't I?:))

Well just like my Cardinals have proven me right for sticking by their side so will Matt. I firmly believe that.

But I do enjoy debating it and sharing my point of view on the QB subject. Thats what makes this board fun for me. I was right on Matt Cassell. I was right on Ben Rothlesberger. And I was right on Aaron Rodgers. So Dammit I am going to be right on Matty:)

But really isn't this thread just contrived and pointless? Why don't I start a thread entitled "What if God comes to Kurt in a vision and wants him to spend Super Sunday spreading the gospel to the homeless instead of being under center?"

Makes about as much sense, eh?

Now watch God get mad at me for putting him #5 and have Matt turn up drunk and stoned at a Tampa brothel :)
