Thank you, thank you, thank you. I had no idea who the heck they were talking about (or what the heck they were talking about) and didn't want to display my ignorance. I thought maybe it had something to do with a secret handshake.

What the hell is a Moktar Enjay?

I just assumed he knew.

Makhtar N'Diaye was a C who started out at Michigan and wound up at North Carolina. From Senegal. He was called the next Hakeem out of HS, and a dirty thug out of college.

It's pronounced Moktar Enjay.

You had to be an attorney to tell him?

My wife just watched a guy driving like an idiot who had a Georgetown Law License Plate holder. She flagged him down and said "hey, did you go to Georgetown Law School?" He said "yes, yes, I did. Did you?"

She said "no, but you just ran 3 stop signs."

NOTE: Not saying anyone here is an idiot.

Your wife is more awesome than I thought, and I thought she was pretty awesome.

Hi Everyone,

I have had a long time poster ask me to delete their account because they felt the board was unreadable right now.

I really haven't been here for a week, but I definitely see what the poster was saying. A lot of these threads are being carpet bombed by people who are only adding negativity.

Obviously everyone has the right to their opinion and can voice them. However, this board is supposed to be a refuge for Cardinals fans. Instead we are kind of eating our own.

Please remember that you don't have to "win" the discussion. I don't like to see our community shrinking. Any long time poster coming to me privately to say they are done with ASFN is concerning. This isn't an issue where someone is looking for attention or sympathy, they would just rather go elsewhere.

"You never really know a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes." (Atticus Finch)

I would simply say that the evolution of Chris' and my ASFN relationship is a testament to what Skkorp envisioned when he built the ASFN family. In fact, I wouldn't have come back myself one time if Chris hadn't reached out an olive branch.

Chris and I have had some rough times and some major differences in opinion. But---a good while back we reached an accord that allowed us to treat each other and each other's opinions with respect, especially when we disagree. It took several PMs, stronger efforts to communicate and some apologies on both of our parts.

Despite never thinking I would at one point, I have really grown to like and appreciate Chris---and would hate what ASFN would be without him.

My wish is that we all learn to evolve in a similar fashion with everyone we consistently disagree with or have an issue with on the board. My wish is that we carry forth Skkorp's legacy. My wish is for the poster who left to return...and that when s/he does, we all will treat her/him with the utmost respect. Just an iota of respect goes a long way.

You know---for those of you who remember Jim---no one liked to defend a position more fervently than he did---and no one employed a keener, more beguiling wit than Jim---but at the end of the day, whether Jim agreed with you or not---you felt respected and welcomed. That's a legacy to honor.:raccoon:

I agree with these sentiments. I am doing what I can to avoid negativity towards the poster and not the subject matter of the post. To me, that is the intent of this thread. Negativity toward the Cardinals is fine, negativity toward the posters not so much.

uh, cat, as an attorney i can tell you that you're way outta bounds here. you have no first amendment rights on a privately owned board. technically they can ban us for saying that grass is green if they want.

The grass is green.

Good words, Mitch. The key is to treat each with respect. I disagree with some of the posters but respect their opinion. Everyone should just stay out of attack mode.

See, already to your head. He called you ONE of the coolest, not THE coolest.

We should have a poll:

"Who's the coolest person on ASFN? (a) cheesebeef, (b) other."

Then if cheesy wins it'll be official and he can put "THE coolest" on his resume!

I could never vote for cheese and coolest.. The dude doesnt even wear red or anything Cards related when he attends games.. He looks like he is out shopping for silk plants for his house when he shows up to a Cards game.. I wanna tell him "hey man, Michaels is down the street, you must be lost" :D

I've worn my Dansby jersey to every game since 2008 when my brothers bought it for me... though I still wear the silk pants below.

Well even if he loses in the vote, he can still claim "Finished 2nd in vote for coolest person on ASFN." Even funnier, really!

And as for not wearing red... i think he's been in a Dansby jersey every time i've attended a game with him, so he must've shaped up in the last couple of years! Here's an example from happier times (pre Cards-Packers playoff game)....

how hilarious would it be if I actually was the tiny little asian girl in the picture?

Hmm... Then I'd guess you were either very popular on the set or... you bought those boots in West Hollywood. :)

Seriously, though. She's a very pretty girl.

At the end of the day you knew the only thing Jim Skane cared about was whether the Cardinals won and where he could get another Fat Tire Ale.

I used to walk a 100 yards+ from Derms tailgate at SDS to Jims without passing another soul.

So glad times have changed.
