Uh, yeah, but it ain't like Tennessee is your normal wild card team. They were, what, 12-4? Just so happens they had Indy in their division. And they have the #1 run defense in the league. And McNair historically plays well when he doesn't practice. And they're hungry. And they have a damn good backup, change-of-pace RB.

Sure, lack of home field will hurt. How much, though? Next week's game will be the toughest, IMO, but I think this is the Titans' year to go all the way.

Stout:

First, Tennessee has to beat New England, in Gillette Stadium, where the Patriots were 8-0 this season (and where the Titans lost, 38-30, in week 5). And Belichick and his boys will have had two weeks to get ready.

Assuming they get past the Pats, the Titans then will face either Indianapolis--who swept them this year--in the RCA Dome, where the Colts beat 'em 33-7 in week 2, or Kansas City, at Arrowhead, where the Chiefs were 8-0 this season.

The #1 seed, followed by either the #2 or #3 seed, all on the road, after squeezing out a three-point road win over fourth-seeded Baltimore? Like I said, possible, but not likely.

There's no denying it's going to be tough for Tennessee. Not impossible, nor outlandish, but tough. The New England game will be harsh, no question. Indy would be tough as well, as would KC (though they match up very favorably against KC).

See, I look at all Tennessee has going for them, and you look at what's against them. There's a lot on both sides, for sure. I feel they'll make it through. Does that mean they will? Not at all. Only time will tell.

True enough. And sometimes, a "team of destiny" gets on a roll, and does the impossible--or, at least, the improbable. Maybe the Titans will be that team, this year. (And what a feelgood, root-for-the-underdog Super Bowl Green Bay vs Tennessee would be, right?)

One thing's for sure, though. After this weekend, one of us won't be perfect, anymore. :D

Yeah, except that you have two super bowl winners picked, which I had asked you to try and fix before....

You need to pick one, I can change it.

Hey, I might need to change some of my picks, as when I picked a week ago or so I didn't know the order of the 2nd round...i.e. I picked 2 winners for this round that are playing each other, and 0 winners from the other game...I think I did this for both the nfc and afc.

So how do I now change my 2nd round picks?

Thanks

I don't think you can.

If you play smashed like I did you simply go to the site and pick what you consider the best teams.

If you play sober (like you should)....you go to the brackets first and find out what teams will be playing where when they win.

Live and learn.

You don't change it, the point of this game was to predict the whole thing, all the way through...

Well...I need the Chiefs and Eagles to win now to be 50 percent in this round! (Although I'm very happy the Panthers upset the Rams...didn't mind so much missing that pick!).

Stout:

Well, I minded. If the Rams had pulled that one out, I'd have been 2-for-2 yesterday. However, if Carolina loses at Philadelphia next week--assuming the Eagles beat the Packers, as they should--it's all good.

But hangin' your hat on the Titans messed you up big-time, buddy. Kiss the AFC Championship game and the Super Bowl goodbye. Better luck next year...

How can the top positions have 7 and 8 points when there's only been 6 games played so far? I think the computer is a little hosed. :computer:

Obviously, since they lost. But don't pat your back too much, genius. You tried to make it sound as if the Titans had no chance. I'm sure you didn't feel that way for much of the game yesterday. It was a very, very close thing. You can't win 'em all. *shrug*

I think a lot of you didn't read the rules!

1 pt for first round picks, 2 for second, 4 for third, and 8 for the Super Bowl pick.

Stout:

Horseshoes and hand grenades. That's where "close" counts. Just ask any member of the Ravens, Seahawks, Rams, Chiefs or Titans, all of whom were eliminated by seven points or less (two in OT, for that matter).

And I'm obviously no "genius," or I wouldn't be 1-2 so far for this weekend's games. But if Philly wins, at least both of my Super Bowl picks will be in the conference championships, which would be a good thing.

Hey, at least we don't have any money on these picks, right? ;)

Is there a deadline for this? Two of the current point-leaders, Casablanca and AzWins23, still have both of their conference champs picked to win the Super Bowl. Seems like an unfair advantage to me...

I'm 51/68. Sweet! :D

Glad to see my prognostication ability carries over from the regular season into the playoffs. That's what I like - consistency.

It does seem unfair, and they've never contacted me about it, and thus probably wont be counted in the final standings.

This was free this year, as a way of testing it, but next year I might charge to have a big pot, and we'll put in error checking, etc.
