ASU might still get in a BCS bowl if they win all of their games...

The BCS has us up at #16 and there are 8 good bowls hopefully we can win the rest of our games and get to go one. It will mean more money for the University which is always good and more publicity which will hopefully allow us to get more players to come here...

Nice try but there are only 4 BCS games (Fiesta, Rose, Orange, Sugar) and ASU has no shot of making any of them. Book your tickets for the Holiday Bowl and pray Cal does not lose to Stanford.

that's why I changed it to 8 good bowl games..before you replied :)
The Power 16, voted on by representatives from ESPN, ESPN The Magazine and ESPN.com, ranks the top 16 teams in the country each week. If you're wondering why 16 was chosen instead of 25, it's because there are eight major bowl games played in January.

The third place team in the Pac 10 goes to the Holiday Bowl.

I think it is contractual.

Hmm is that considered a top 8 bowl? That kind of sucks...Cal and USC were two of the top teams this year :(

Actually I think it's the 2nd place Pac-10 vs. the 3rd place Big 12. If everything holds ASU will make it after finishing third in the Pac10 like they did a couple years ago because Cal and USC will be in BCS games. If Cal loses then ASU will end up in the Sun Bowl.

It looks like ASU will play either Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma St. or Texas Tech in the Holiday Bowl. Right now, I think Oklahoma St. is the most likely opponent. If Texas doesn't make the BCS, the Cotton would choose between Texas and A&M with the other team playing ASU. The only way that happens though is if A&M beats Texas.
