When I used to follow scouting a lot more, I always saw Cozzetto's name pop up when it came to recruiting, so I assume he could be a valuable acquisition, in that regard. I don't necessarily consider Graham an honest person, but he did mention getting former players more involved with the program, so maybe this is an example of that. Didn't he coach WR's before?

He was OC/o-line under Snyder. O-line coach under Erickson.

I heard Graham interviewed tonight. His responses to tough questions at least made a little sense. I don't mind the hire anymore.

Don't mean to tease, just don't want to betray confidences because no job has been offered. Yet. It's in the works, though. One name you would know if you've been a serious ASU fan for any amount of time. The other name you probably wouldn't know unless you follow West Coast recruiting.

I was just kidding around. I so want this hire to workout for the sake of the ASU football program.

Well, if you merged the two ASU coaching search threads (this one and the original one), we have reached 1,000 posts! And for what... Todd Graham. That's like when the Cardinals miss the playoffs after all of the playoff talk on the board.

Todd Graham brings on former Washington State University Co-Defensive Coordinator Chris Ball as an assistant coach. Story at above link.

In almost an ironic twist, Paul Chryst has been names Graham's successor at Pitt.

Ouch... ASU poaches Pitts coach and, at least in my opinion, Pitt ends up getting a much better coaching prospect in the end.

Graham is going to be a disaster at ASU. With his job hopping history and a huge chunk of his staff defecting to Rich Rod he is going to get butchered in recruiting.

Grumblings are Graham may be bringing John Sanders on board in some capacity, which would bode well for the team's chances of getting DJ Foster, but I'm not entirely sure that's the name Matt was referring to.

Yes - sounds like ASU is talking about bringing him on. Would be huge for local pipeline plus DJ Foster.

It sounds like it would bolster recruiting in Arizona plus he is a top H.S. coach. It couldn't hurt.

I agree, it'd be a huge coup for local recruiting, especially if they can land Foster as part of the deal.

As of current, Sanders' reputation is in the toilet with the local media for parking his starters prior to the Chaparral game (they wound up getting crushed in the game and it ultimately cost him his job), however let's be honest-- Graham's not exactly riding into Tempe with the hottest of reps himself.

I figure, why the hell not. It will be a nice coup for him to get someone familiarized with the local high school scene.

Not trying to troll here but how is getting an unemployed high school coach a coup? And from living about a mile from Saguaro I can tell you that most parents and alumni can't stand the guy. Will definitely help with Foster but you never hire a guy for one kid. See Sendek and his awful recruiting with Scott Pera post-Harden.

That's really not true. His reputation is mud with Scott Bordow, but Scott's usually on an entirely different track that most anyone else.

I'd love to have the guy just for his defensive coaching.

If it was going to happen, I think it would have happened already. There's still a big hole where the DC position used to be, but my guy wouldn't be up for that. Once he hired Novell, I think the gig was up.

Well, Graham just pony'd up a $500K donation for the Sun Devil Stadium project. http://www.azcentral.com/story/spor...am-make-gifts-to-stadium-remodeling/15677303/

Guess he ain't leaving anytime soon eh?

Wow. That would lead you to believe he has no intentions to leave anytime soon. If TG can get our Sun Devils to the promised land AND he isn't looking to jump ship after some success!?!?

That could have such a major major impact on the long term success of the program.
