Didn't feel good coming into this one once I heard he couldn't go.
We hung in there in the first half, but lack of any offensive rhythm aside from jacking 3's all night hurt.
UofA needed and wanted this one more and torched the nets in the 2nd half.
I thought we might get some renewed life after Parrom's thug move (the push in the back after the hard foul) but nothing came of it and the lead got even bigger.

haha... FINALLY UofA fans come out of the woodwork... ASU picked a bad time to have their 2nd worst game of the season (Thew USC game was the worst college game I have ever seen in my life, and that is NOT an exageration)....
in the end, the Cats played well, and the Devils played as bad as they could have...
I think it is safe to say that UofA played out of their damn minds tonight, almost like because their season is already over, this was their Tournament game/Homecoming/Superbowl, and ASU did not match their intesity in the 2nd half...
Congrats on the win.. Yell scoreboard all you like, WE will yell STANDINGS!!!

Like I said, I have zero problem with a hard foul, but pushing a player in the back after the foul is only done to hurt them. If you celebrate thuggery, that's up to you.

btw: I was at the game, so I haven't actually seen a video of it. Aside from the little replay they showed on the jumbotron ..it didn't look all that bad, but I didn't see anything afterwards. I think Abbott's reaction is what caused there to be a technical on Parrom. Otherwise you just move on.
You hear old school fans complain about soft plays being called T's and how today basketball is so soft. A play like that was common back then and hardly frowned upon. It's a competitive game, stakes are high, in-state rivalry..this only adds on.

Please, that foul was DIRTY. Parrom didn't even go for the ball. He went right at Ty's head and shoved him after Ty came down. Absolute cheap shot. Not an excuse for playing a horrible second half though. Free throws absolutely killed ASU. Usually a good free throw shooting team and they were awful tonight. UA on the other hand is a pretty good free throw shooting team and they were even better tonight. Congrats on the win, but I expect a different result down in Mexico later this year.

Something tells me if the teams' schedules were reversed the records would look a lot different. Something about the 4th ranked schedule in all of college hoops vs. ASU's probably helped contributed to a four-win difference.

He was not going for his head, that is B.S., kid. It was a hard foul and just so happened to hit Ty's head. Watch the replay, he clearly was going for his arms. The shove in the back was unnecessary I'll admit, but look what it did? Abbot was clearly rattled by that event and started shooting blanks. As one had already indicated, he played in the Bronx. You don't play scared up there; otherwise, you are liable to get shot. Hell, when I am in New York, I stay as far away from the Bronx as possible!
What I liked about the exchange was that Parrom was laughing his ass off while Abbot tried to step up to him.
Can't wait for the rematch.

Glad you got such a kick out of it, sounds like you're as big a punk as Parrom. If it were an ASU player who pulled that crap, I'd hope most of the intelligent ASU fans would be embarrassed. That's not basketball, and you can really hurt someone pulling that crap. I love the fugazi tough guys crowing about it. Hope someone does it to you when you're playing (which you probably don't), and you'll see how funny it is.
To the classy U of A fans, nice win. Both teams still suck, but Williams looks like a nice piece. To the majority of the clowns here, especially those with no ties to the school, congrats, first win in 6 tries.

Man you guys are so sore when you assume your rightful place back as whipping boys for the team to the south. FYI Devil fans - there are no more INTERIM COACHS for you guys to beat. This past two years will be the apex of ASU basketball and you guys can shut your mouths about the "epic" 5 game win streak. I don't want to hear anymore about it period. You can't beat the full time head coaches and thats going back 25 years now and likely will go for another 25. Your a football school, remember? Oh waitttttttttt
And I don't necessairly think both teams suck. We have more talent then any team in the league. They are just young. But wins like this(going to your rivals house and punking them up and down the court)can do wonders for a teams confidence and for a coaches program. Last night you finally saw everyone buying in. So while ASU was overachieving with the hardest little workers around, they are now getting a reality check slap in the face and they can go back to what they are. A middleing Pac-10 team who will pull an upset every once in awhile and will make the tournament once every four years.
As for us. Well I am hoping this starts a run and it looks like we will be playing Cal for #1 in Tucson next week. #26 is no lock but we sure as hell are headed in the right direction and now we might not need to win the tourney in LA to get in. We just might finish Top 2, especially when you consider how home heavy the rest of our schedule is.
As for Parrom, I didn't see the play but I would guess if that was someone like Abbott doing that too Parrom all the Devil fans would be discussing how much tougher ASU is and is imposing their will. Instead we ran you out of the gym AND out muscled you. So you guys might not like it but I would get used to it. Miller's teams are scrappy and will fight every possession. I am not condoning what Parrom did (again I didn't see it) but I sure as hell like that my freshman aren't backing down from any body.
Ahh I love it. Two trips to Tempe and two wins. What on earth do you Devils sports fans have to talk about right now? That sweet new OC? Maybe why Pat Murphy resigned? OOOOHHH womans basketball is ranked aren't they????
