At what point did you guys realize Wilks was unfit to coach?

Was it the first or second game? Honestly, to me, it was the first game. I know that may sound premature, but that first game was an absolute atrocity and simply reflected the coaching staff. The coaching staff is trying everything they can to fix it and they are still losing games despite max effort.

Wilks is touted as a defensive coach but his defense let the opposing offense march down the field for the game winning field goal.

Wilks has to show his in game calls helps the team not cost them. Wilks is just a clapper so far just like the Dallas dude.

All clap no game in the game.

Game 2. "If I thought this team needed a spark, I would have put in Josh" in the middle of a blowout where he didn't make it past mid field until the final drive.

A final drive that he ran the clock out on his own team rather than try to build on something positive

I’ve been sick of him since the Rams game. I was at the Redskins game and disappointed, but bad games happen. What has happened since is a pattern.

But the way he handles pressers seals it. He doubles down on his mistakes and deflects blame away from himself. How has he not lost the locker room yet?

I was uninspired from the beginning. 1 year DC, whose defense did nothing special that year in Carolina. Then he promoted his buddies to DC and OL coach. Supposed to be a defensive coach but Ive never been clear on what his defensive identity is. I now know his defensive identity is sucking against the run.

Ive said it before but my strong preference once we run him out of town is an offensive HC who calls his own plays so Rosen can have some continuity. I don't want him to be the next Alex Smith who spends the first 6 years of his career learning different playbooks. Unless of course that coach runs an offense like McCoy, in which case any guy who looks like Denzel Washington will do. Oh wait...

the end of this game did it for me

the "run three plays to make Seattle burn their last two timeouts and settle for a 45 yard field goal, but likely leave nearly 2 mins on the clock" is such a 1990 old school defensive coach by the book approach. Its timid, passive, fearful coaching. At a time when you are 0-3 and starting a rookie QB for the remainder of the year.

the reality is that even if Dawson had made that FG -- is their any guarantee that Seattle couldn't have gotten itself into position to at least tie with that much time on the board?

so --- the season situation (0-3), the field position ( 45 yard fg - no gimme), clock situation (if successful, SEA still would have 1:45 or so left) and opponent (Russell Wilson, kinda known for last gasp drives) SCREAMS that you need at least one more first down if you want to control your situation.

First game sucked but it his first game so I hoped it was just a new staff, is what it is.

Second game would’ve been a pass due to the fact we got clobbered by a super bowl favorite, but the manner in which we got embarrassed - the historic ineptitude. And his demeanor and comments after the game told me he likely wasn’t the coach I wanted.

Third game sealed the deal. I was ready. Other than beginning of the game flukes it was more of the same. Then compounded by bringing in Rosen at a pressure point. Then coffin nailed shut with the third down call to Edmonds.

This week’s final three runs followed by his defense crumbling just confirmed the prior weeks decision that he needed to be gone. Then he confirmed my worst fears with his post-game comments cementing the fact that he not only cannot learn, but worse, he refuses to do so. I do not care for a coach that doesn’t take responsibility and refuses to learn.
