Josh has this et up for him perfectly - and to be honest with you - even though I wish Navarre was starting, it'll be interesting to see if a couple game son the bench has done anything for Josh. There's still the SLIGHTEST chance he could be something and now starting with the Niners, he's got a chance to either really step up or just show himself as the below average QB al lot of us fear him to be.

The bigger test will come the next week when he's not playing the worst team in football. I just know they are going to win this week and EVERYONE gonna be all over DG saying look the kid is 3-0 but of course they'll fail to point out that those three wins came over arguably the worst three teams in football at this point.

One thing's for sure - this season has been a hell of a lot more interesting than last season.

Hey Conrad don't throw in the towel yet on McCown.

I admit I have never been to big of a fan of Josh, but this set of events that have unfolded just may be the turning point for him.

The pressure should be off of Josh now, there is no way King is coming back on the field unless there is an injury.

Josh should just start winging the ball down the field and start making some plays. The INT's will start to appear but that comes with the territory.

I think Josh needs a new team and he needs to go somewhere and be the backup and maybe he will develop into a starter some day.

Here he is toast IMO, just MO but that dosen't mean I really gave up on him but DG did and he's the only one here that matters.

Conrad,

I think if Josh takes advantage of this second opportunity and does well that he will be our QB next season.

Dennis Green will be able to save face and say that his benching of McCown to allow him to watch from the sidelines for a few games was the winning prescription for what was ailing Josh.

If Josh starts making plays down the field I will fully support the retention of Josh next season.

I personally wouldn't do it.

Josh has too much water under the bridge here.

My plan...

Drew Bledsoe
Russ's Rodgers guy
Navarre

Trade for Larry Johnson of the Chiefs and pick a burner WR somewhere in the draft.

I think with the Chiefs you could possibly even trade Starks to them for Johnson with them throwing in possibly a O lineman.

Great, then we discover the guy can only do well when games don't count anymore. And we'll have passed over another QB or two, and be stuck in this same stupid position again. :bang:

I think Navarre's the best QB on the roster and unless there's somebody else out there (which, right now, there isn't) then I hope he's the starter in '05.
He showed more in the first half than either McCown or King have all season.

The problem with this offense is the running game, and the offense is going to stink until the running game gets fixed.
