Hey Cardinals fans, it's your turn to vote!

I'm running an interactive mock draft with the fan forums of all NFL teams. The fans get to vote and make the pick for their respective team.

So far the fans have voted:
Carolina - Fairley
Denver - Dareus
Buffalo - Newton
Cincinnati - Green
Arizona - ??

You can vote for the player you want the Cards to select here:
http://www.footballdraftnotebook.com/InteractiveMock

Also, if you write a short 3-sentence description as to why this player should be drafted in this thread, I will pick out the best write-up and post it in the mock draft section along with your name!

*Finally, Bills fans hold the record with 109 votes. Can you Cards fans beat that?

***Also for mods, I hope you don't see this as spam. I am just trying to get the right fans to vote for their team, so we get the right mock draft. If you have any problems, please let me know.c

I voted for Bowers.

He is the intersection of best player available and filling a need. Peterson is tempting, but Arizona's secondary isn't devoid of talent. DRC and Toler make an above average tandem on the corners and if schemed properly, Wilson and Rhodes could be among the best at safety. The same cannot be said for the team's linebackers--and the OLB position is what a 3-4 defense is built upon.

I voted for Bowers.

I don't care if you run a 4-3 defense or a 3-4, DaQuan Bowers is the kind of player whose talents you design your defense to exploit. Since the Cardinal braintrust doesn't like giving rookies playing time, Bowers can begin his career as a strong-side pass rush specialist across from 2010 fourth-round rusher O'Brien Schofield in nickel situations. Bowers represents too much value to pass on in a talent-poor first tier of NFL prospects.

Bowers.

He's a freak on the field, much like Suggs was back in 2003. I pray that the Cards do not trade down this time if Bowers is available.

I have to go with the offensive tackle from Boston. Does no good to have a high dollar qb if you can't protect him.

Bowers is the slam-dunk pick here. If he were off the board, I'd go with Quinn. None of the QBs stand out to me here and Miller doesn't have the size.

Why? Can he play OLB in a 3-4? From the reports he is strictly a DE. But if the guy could play OLB in a 3-4 at 6'4" 275 that would be awesome.

He could likely put on 10-15 lbs more and be a one-gap pass rush demon from the DE position. He lost 20 lbs between his junior and senior seasons. Between 1995 and 1999 under Wade Phillips in Buffalo Bruce Smith averaged over 12 sacks per season as a DE in a 3-4 defense.

As I said in my blurb, when you have a talent like Da'Quan Bowers looking at you, you have to jump on him and find a way to use him.

Ok, going to let this run for the night and lock in the pick tomorrow morning.

To those that have already voted, thank you!

If you haven't voted yet, go ahead and do so.

Also will be picking a winner for the description tomorrow as well!

So how do you use him in Arizona? Bench Campbell or play Bowers at OLB? Or trade Williams re-sign Branch and go back to a 4-3, Bowers, Dockett,Branch,Campbell?

Blaine Gabbert. Cardinals cannot ignore this position any longer looking for a Tom Brady miracle in the 6th round. This draft is too overloaded with similar defensive talent from top to bottom to make the #5 pick a defensive position priority. Unless the Cards made a deal with Horton to take a D player, go with Gabbert. He has the tools.

Go back to a 4-3 would be my plan. I don't see the Cards FO scoring the LB's necessary to make the 3-4 work here.

You keep him in the 3-4. In the Pitt 3-4 zone blitz scheme the DL use a lot of energy in that scheme thus a very heavy rotation is used. Maybe more so then any other DL in the NFL, it plays a key roll to that defense working. Pitt Draft Evenader Hood even though they were already 3 deep at the position. Hood, Smith, and Keisel play a massive amount of snaps. Pitts 2 backups could be starters for a 3-4. One of the backups by the way Nick Eason could be on the short list of FA's once the CBA is worked out.

Took the words right out of my mouth. While Calais Campbell was being spelled frequently by Alan Branch, Dockett was on the field way too much last season, in part because of the injury to Iwebema.

Drafting Bowers would immediately help the 3rd down nickel pass rush, and playing him at DE would help keep Campbell and Dockett healthy and fresh.
