Huh?
Not happy with losing Micah at all. He wasn't a fantastic pitcher, but he could be a fifth starter. He did have some nice games. Its too bad.
how would we get rid of him
I agree with this. Owings had a great April, but since then has deteriorated beyond imagination. He has been a total disaster except for a couple of relief appearances. Seven straight losses will make you expendable. The D-backs had a chance to get a slugger, something many people have complained about the team not having, and they did. But it NEVER is good enough for some people! The novelty of having a power hitting pitcher wore off after April when he failed to produce consistently at the plate, which was hiding his pitching flaws. Now he cant hit nor pitch. Micah was expendable. Plus remember, we have Max Scherzer, who will be 90 times the pitcher Micah is

wait, you were serious?better the are other options burk or ojeda.
Nashman, I apologize to you for thinking to myself "how can nashman not know he is kidding."Burk or Ojeda would be a TREMENDOUS upgrade at 2nd over Dunn, do you watch baseball? Have you seen how Dunn moves, or lack of movement rather?
maybe with the glove but not with the bat. you win agmes with your bat not defense. we have to have the best guys in the lineup and when upton comes back we play him at right and dunn at second. or upton at second and dunn in right.Burk or Ojeda would be a TREMENDOUS upgrade at 2nd over Dunn, do you watch baseball? Dude, stop.
Your theory on the value of defense is so flawed that it doesn't deserve a response. Dunns nickname is "The Donkey" for a reason. He's 6'6 and 280 pounds and is arguably the slowest player in baseball, how on God's green earth is he gonna play 2B. Let's put Tony Clark at SS then just to get his bat in the lineup.....
A key part to this team is our defense. We have a guy named Brandon Webb who relies on interior infield defense and his performance is in many ways tied to it. One of the reason we're a .500 club is because our defense is worse than it was last year. I would guess that we have lost 3-5 games alone so far this year because of our sub par defense.
Dunn playing at 2B is the dumbest proposition I've ever heard. Sorry if I'm being too hard but we might as well get Mo Vaughn out of retirement and plug him in at 2B with your theory
first of all your missing my hole point. drew is better than clark at this point in there careers so theres no point to that change. tonight ojeda made a great play weeehooo! but did we win the game? no we would have been better off with bonds at second batting third. Dunn didnt come threw but i am guessing it was nervous more times than not he comes through in that situation. you guys are making it sound like defense wins games in baseball.
What a funny thread. Of course, if a lefty thrower plays 2B, then 3B would have to be moved to where 1B is now and vice versa. Batters would run in a clockwise direction.I think the White Sox should sign Barry Bonds to play second base.

All 2B, SS and 3B would have to be southpaws, to be throwing the way their arms follow through while facing home plate. Lefties would rule.
Of course, since we're a small portion of the population, skill levels of infielders would diminish.
Then someone would come along with the idea that righties should be playing 2B-SS-3B, and it would all reverse again. His name would probably be Abner Doubleday.

And now, let's get back to reality.
BTW, did you see in today's news that Mark Reynolds volunteered to move to 2B? It would reduce his throwing errors. But then Chad Tracy would move to 3B, so Adam Dunn could move to 1B while he's here.
Good for the offense. But with Reynolds at 2B and Tracy at 3B, a huge step back for the defense at 2B and 3B.
The best teams have strong defense up the middle -- C, 2B, SS and CF. With Snyder at C, Hudson (or Ojeda) at 2B, Drew at SS and Young at CF, we're good in that regard.

It's interesting that everyone on the roster (including the whole pitching staff) other than Montero, Burke and Ojeda are at least 6 feet tall. It's not a game for average height any more.
How's this for a basketball roster? Rauch 6'11"-290; Dunn 6'6"-275; RJ 6'10"-225; Clark 6'7"-245; Qualls 6'5"-220; Haren and Slaten 6'5"-215; Snyder 6'4"-245; Davis 6'4"-215; and Reynolds, Jackson, Tracy, Young, Webb, Cruz and Pena all 6'2".
Not to mention the comedy team of Daron Sutton 6'5" and Mark Grace 6'2". And Tom Candiotti 6'2" on the radio side.
