That's my take, SF came out fired up and did virtually everything right all game, we did virtually everything wrong and we were still in the game until Beanie's fumble.

I mean aside from the 5 first half turnovers that put us in the hole just look at the other side of it. Dockett makes a great play tipping the ball to himself, and then fumbles, luckily we recovered it and survived the replay.

Later AW makes a great play stepping in front, picks the ball, has a probable TD in front of him and he trips on the grass and falls down. Then gets up spikes it and gets a penalty.

About the only play that went bad for SF all night was the Hightower fumble which they returned for a TD but the whistle blown stopped the play. but they still got the ball and still scored. So even that worked out for them.

They played the better game, they won, you're not going to win with 7 turnovers, hell you would normally lose by 30+ points with that many turnovers.

Beat Detroit next week, Philly beats SF and the division is clinched.

Pretty much agree. Although my gag reflex from watching the whole debacle last night is making it hard to even think about lunch today

That's really the only solution isn't Russ... As Whiz said, we played a BAD game, but that doesn't mean we are a BAD team.

However, we are becoming a pretty nicked-up team and that could become an issue. Kurt is not well. It remains to be seen what the deal is with Fitz, but you have to believe that at minimum, if he's able to go he won't be anywhere near 100%. Breaston's performance seems to indicate he's still hurting. Ware is gone which leave a gaping hole in our secondary. Dansby is playing with two bad separated shoulders. Hayes is clearly not 100%. Same for Okeafor...
We need to win next week and start resting our key guys. They need to heal up...

Yea, I hope the team has a shorter memory than I do. It takes me all week to get over a performance like the one last night. Glad we have the Lions and Rams next, hope we can take of businness in these.

It will ALSO be the Lions and rams SUPERBOWL games also.:sad:Hope Leinart takes all the snaps this week and pulls the team out of the fire.I don't think the 9ers can go into philly and win.NO WAY!!! Especially after they just did what they did.Half the team mentally won't make the flight.

Doucet and Breaston have to step up.Someone needs to show Breaston what the sidelines look like again also.I'm too embarrassed.

Yep that's my concern coming out of this game. Even Boldin didn't look like he was 100% in warmups.

I'd love to clinch next week so we could rest some regulars.

Russ-----I totally agree with you. This game is what it is-----a stinker through and through. Forget it, file it away for good, and get on with the next game. NOTHING GOOD CAN COME FROM REHASHING THIS MESS.

For the next game, Detroit, (I believe), I would probably start Leinart. Kurt can't be right the way he was thrown around like a rag doll. He has got to be hurting very badly, and (even though he will want to play badly), I would force him to rest and heal at least for a week, two if possible. We should be able to win with ML at the helm against Detroit and even the Rams. Having Kurt well for Green Bay would seem like the right play so far as I am concerned.
