He's the biggest winner in this QB draft.

You'll gave to go up to #5 to get him. He's gone after that.

Here's a question. Whichever quarterback you prefer, it is obvious that a move up will be required. What would you be willing to part with to move up?
You may have to include a star player or two. Would you trade Patrick Peterson as part of a package to move up? Or Larry? Or would you just give up five premier draft picks to get one player?
None of the above and I think that anyone that is willing to even slightly consider those names or that amount of picks for a player who has never thrown a pass in the NFL does not know much about football.

I like Mayfield and I like Rudolph but it's really hard to gauge these guys playing in the Big 12, and I'm a UT Ex. I will say this, that WR Marquise "Hollywood" Brown is the definition of explosive... btw, what a classy prick Mayfield is giving Oklahoma St. respect after the win lol

What is said about the Big 12 can also be said about Pac 12 defenses.

Because I don't want Leinart 2.0. I don't want all of the hype and nonsense that comes with potentially picking the wrong guy and having him flame out while the media rips him for taking a hot tub pick.

5 years from now I don't want to be edging 40 talking about our huge draft bust.
I could see that if it were possible for two guys to be identical in personality and then put in identical situations. But Mayfield falling to the Cardinals wouldn't be any more criticized than Leinart falling to the Cardinals.

I don't think any reasonable pundit/expert was harping on the Cardinals for taking Leinart anyway. They didn't trade up to get him or even plan on him being there. It was a surprise and the only reasonable thing for the Cardinals to do at that point. And, had Dennis Green remained the coach who knows how Leinart would have turned out? Whisenhunt/Haley coming in and inheriting a young QB that wasn't right for them didn't do Leinart any favors, regardless of how much Leinart brought on himself for example.

So, Mayfield being taken at #15 is not going to be met with any criticism IMO. First and foremost, Wilks likely won't be out the door after just one year so Mayfield won't have to be a savior. Of the franchise or of the HC's job. Second, he'll be coming to a much more supportive QB room and situation than Leinart was put in. Third, Bradford and he would have an obvious connection that seems like it would be a plus.

Mayfield isn't a sure thing but he's a top prospect and I don't see any reason why the Cardinals would pass on him if he fell to them. I think they'd be criticized FAR more if they didn't take him if he was there at 15.

Teams get 30 visits for out of town candidates. This is just due diligence in case Mayfield slides to a range where the Cardinals can go get him. It could happen.

The question is who else is going to be in the go get him mode. Miami, New Orleans, Pittsburgh and New England all are rumored to be ready to make a move for their next signal caller.

I actually wasn't really trying to make a Leinart to Mayfield comparison, although it's slightly apropos given Mayfield's possible maturity issues and the more conservative nature of the Arizona fanbase.

My real concern is all wrapped in with trading up for one of these QBs. If we get one at 15, yeah, I don't see much to lose. But trading up for the wrong one is going to be a disaster for the franchise for years. So if we get to talking about one I don't like (Josh Allen most specifically), that's my reasoning for poo pooing the choice, as was asked early on.

Today is the final day draftees can visit teams facilities Baker Mayfield in the valley visiting the Cardinals today. Hearing that some of these visits for Mayfield how much he loves ball & his passion which I think we’ve noticed over the last couple years in college football.

Rosen has the attitude of Rodgers coming out, which the Packers say thank you very much for letting him slide. To say he is Cutler is to totally ignore his skill set. Allen is Anderson and not Rosen, arm strength and a lack of accuracy :)

Tried to find out how it went but lips seem sealed. All I could get was they were impressed with his poise. Not sure what that means. Calm under pressure?

In terms of cost/benefit or risk/reward - I think Jackson at #15 is a surer bet than giving up pix to trade up for a QB in the top 4.

The concept of "risk" carries with it the possibility that a QB in the top 4 will go on to be All Pro. (Or not). Likewise, Jackson at #15 might turn out to be a franchise QB. (Or not).

So you roll the dice, play the percentages (as you see it) and cross your fingers.

As for me, I just don't think that the top 4 guys are that much better than L Jackson to be worth the extra players or picks.
