The temptation is to resent them (i.e. "where were you when we needed you?") Don't do that.

Instead, welcome them with open arms and steer them toward the ASFN and other (hint hint) sites so that they will quickly become knowledgeable, less dufussy Cardinal fans.

Gotta lot of seats to fill next year in Glendale!

Your right of course, but what's dufussy?

Lets make them a big tailgate with dancers and magic acts. They can tell us how they ignored us for so long and how they are now going to jump on (be carefull) the moving bandwagon with a real band. DEfussy it's how you feel once you pay for your very first season tickets.

The one thing I've noticed about Phoenix fans is in general they are bandwagon. There is usually a die-hard core of fans (this being what I see on gameday for the Cards) and once the team shows promise, a lot of people will jump on the bandwagon. Its just the reality of Phoenix, unfortunately. The Suns are an excellent example of this...plus when I went to two Suns games this year, the crowd was pretty quiet...it was pathetic...all I could think of is how much I miss the SEZ.

Bandwagon jumpers occur in every sport, its not necessarily a bad thing. The Cards need to sustain a few good years to solidify some of them into diehards, but most of them won't do it regardless because they are just cheering for the latest hot trend in the valley.

I have to admit that it's hard not to resent bandwagon people. There's no loyalty there. That's like having a friend who's never there when you need him, then winning the lottery and now he's your best friend.

With that said, it's just a fact of life. It's too bad that fans can't be like the fans in Green Bay. Packing a stadium in 10 degree weather even when they were awful is what being a fan is all about.

If I lived in Green Bay and that was all there really was to do (sports related) hell I'd be there all the time too.

Over saturation in the PHX sports market. It will take generations for it to really change

It's gonna be damn near impossible to stop someone in the street if you're not in AZ. All the Cards jerseys that the people who just have to sport the latest, is gonna take away from my God given right to rep my team. Oh well. What can you do?

Nice, only if we start losing that bandwagon will be driven off a cliff.

The thing that sucks is a lot of them will jump back off the bandwagon as soon as the road gets bumpy.

I'll admit, I've gone from blissfully ambivalent to seomwhat interested after sensing some improvement last year and some good free agent signings this year what seems to be a pretty good draft. I'm a huge NFL (Eagles) fan who never really liked the Cardinals because I was away at college when they arrived, and they've sucked since I moved back. If they're at least competitive (which it seems they will be), I'll go to all the games I can, as has been the case all along. If that means I'm a bandwagon fan, I'll learn to live with it. :D

True, but we'll just run em over as they fall off. It's all good (and easy for me to say since I don't run into too many bandwagon Cardinal fans in South Jersey. There are some, but not many.)

To be fair, there are a lot people in AZ who have cheered for the Cards, but have been turned off specifically by the way the team has been run in the past. Their ambivalence was a long time forming, and I don't count them as bandwagon fans who are trendy or can only stomach a winner. Those of us who have remained have seen great changes in the last couple of years. If it draws some of these fans back, then I'm all for it.

It's almost like it's "respectable" to be a Cardinal fan instead of an object of ridicule. Like the trendy flavor of the month. Hey, whatever it takes to fill the stadium.;)

That's okay if some of them jump off. Some will stick. Then our core of fans will be substantially more than the 25,000 hardcores that we have now. The hardcores may be more around 40,000 in the lean years.

Welcome ANY and ALL Cardinals fans with open arms. Who cares if they haven't been here since "the beginning". I wasn't even born when the Cardinals got their first championship in 1947. So, it's all relative, my Cardinal friends :)

Just bought season tickets !!! Sec 29 Row 18 seats 17 and 18. Is there anyone going to be sitting around me for the games ? Also where does everyone meet up.

I also talked to John Misch 602-379-1897 and he explained 31,500 season tickets have been sold. Almost a 6,000 rise from last season and it is still early. the Cards are projected to finish around 37-38K for season tickets which is on it's way up.

Also we talked for a little while about the price boost next year and he think the lower level sidelines seats are going to move to around maybe $700-$750 a piece next year

There was a time in the NFL when several franchises were regarded as running jokes: The Cardinals, Bengals, Rams and Falcons all come to mind. But the Rams and the Falcons have been to the Super Bowl in the last decade. The Bengals are the only thing close to the Cards in terms of being a "joke" of a franchise, but they've been to the Super Bowl in their history and have shown signs of life the last two years.

Even when we stepped up and won a playoff game in 98, we did it with one of the easiest schedules in NFL history and a 9-7 record. We snuck into the playoffs and beat a Cowboys team that had shouldn't have been their in the first place.

What I'm getting at is that when we make a splash, and make no mistake I believe that we're going to win 10 games this year, the national media will be all over us. Remember the commotion that Rams got when they came out of nowhere to win the Super Bowl? When we get there, the hype will come with it.

And make no mistake, with the hype will come the fans. When I represent myself as a Cardinals fan, I am usually greeted with snickers. But hey, when I started rooting for this team, I had no illusions about the state of the franchise. But the casual fan isn't up for that. Either they root for the hometown squad or they choose their favorite team from one of the recent playoff teams.

So yeah, get used to "I always kind of liked the Cardinals" and be prepared to take it with a shaker of salt. But as mentioned, there's plenty of room on this bandwagon, so go ahead and welcome your fair weathered friend aboard.

We're kind of still stuck in "Anti-Patriots" mode right now.

On PTI yesterday they were saying that the Pats first round pick sure looked like a bust, but hey, they're the Patriots! They are above criticism. All you have to do is look at their track record and you can't really question any decision they make.

But we're the polar opposite. Be it draft choices, ticket prices, etc. the attitude is: "They're the Cardinals. Look at their track record. (And then bash away)".

There is only one way to fixing that problem: winning.

Winning fills the stadium. Winning buys credibility.
