Suns guard Leandro Barbosa will be available to play in tonight’s home game against the New York Knicks.

Barbosa has missed the past eight games with a left knee sprain. He finished Thursday’s practice in pain and at the time did not believe he would play tonight, but he has been medically cleared to play.

“I’m going to try,” Barbosa said today. “I just wanted to give a surprise for you guys. I’m not 100 percent but I think I can help the team.”

Good to see he's been cleared to play. However, if he's not quite at 100 percent, I don't see the reason to play him just yet, given the way we've been playing lately.

Hopefully we won't need him against the woeful Knicks and can save him for the big game against LA

the knicks back court can give this team a number of problems with their quickness. marbury and nate robinson may get nash in foul trouble. with the hamstring problems of house. the only one that we have that may help in slowing them down is barbosa. so personally i am glad that he will be there and dressed.

In todays republic it was reported that Barbosa tried to play one-on-one and left the court in pain. I hope its wrong.

The Suns are on a roll.

Why would they try to rush Barbosa back if he's still in pain?

A lot of bad injuries occur when athletes are favoring a leg because of pain.

Yeah, especially on the front end of a back to back....why not have him sit out tonight, and then test it before the Clippers game? He admitted himself that he isn't 100%. The team is playing admirably without him, why risk injury?

Maybe House's hamstring is worse than initially thought

The Knicks have been playing small lately so we might need LB tonight. They've had lineups on the floor with Marbury, Nate Robinson & Jamal Crawford. I don't know how much they've used them at the same time though. NY is a team we should beat and so far we've been winning those games this year.

House only played 15 minutes, but he scored 15 in that time. Looked healthy to me against the Knicks.

Leandro played 21 minutes. His stat line was 2 of 3, including a cut to the basket. He had two assists and two rebounds.

The Knicks guards are pretty good, so D'Antoni must have felt Leandro's defense was more important than giving the extra minutes to Eddie.

Yah, I noticed Eddies defense was pretty bad tonight. He got burned on a few screens and left Robinson wide open.

Apparently Barbosa didn't get the memo that we aren't double-teaming the post anymore (especially when the Knicks post players were struggling so badly). He caused us to scramble on defense a couple of times and the helped the Knicks go on a run. Leandro doesn't look like he's confident in the knee right now and didn't try to drive the lane at all. Hopefully he'll get his confidence back and get more aggressive tomorrow.
