Anna 2

ANNA — Greenville won its second straight game, 6-2 over Anna, to go 3-4 in District 9-5A baseball.

Easton Slagle went the distance on the mound for the Lions, allowing four hits, five walks and two earned runs with seven strikeouts.

Caden Musil, Ethan Musil and Bryce Samples all pounded two hits each to lead the Lions at the plate. Samples and Ethan Musil doubled and Daymien Bankston tripled. Bankston and Samples both drove in two runs.Carter Hurst had a hit and Caleb Yost drove in a run as the Lions improved to 12-10 for the season.

The Lions are to finish the two-game series against Anna at Anna on Friday, starting at 7:30 p.m. The game was originally scheduled for John Mason Field in Greenville but was moved to Anna because of wet conditions.

Greenville started the two-game district win streak with a 6-0 win at Sherman on Friday.

Walnut Grove girls 10

PROSPER — Walnut Grove upped its District 9-5A softball record to 8-1 with a 10-2 win over the Greenville Lady Lions on Tuesday.

Merci Tippit tallied two hits and a run to lead the Lady Lions at the plate. Kynna Rhoden scored a run off a double by Brookelyn Waldrop. Moe Scott also had a single as the Lady Lions finished with four hits off Walnut Grove pitchers Naomi Redman, Hannah Adkins and Brookelyn Streit, who combined for 13 strikeouts.

Hella Berlage homered and scored two runs to lead Walnut Grove at the plate. Kailee James tripled and Micayla Wood doubled.

The Lady Lions, still winless in district play, are to play at Sherman on Friday.

Rockwall 3

Royse City 1

ROYSE CITY — Rockwall-Heath’s Ian Rister won a pitching duel with Peyton Peoples of Royse City as the Hawks won 3-1 in District 10-6A baseball.

Rister allowed three hits, two walks and one earned run as he struck out 10.

Peoples allowed four hits, one earned run and one walk as he struck out seven.

Harrison Hickey led Royse City with two hits and Matteas Green had a hit. Regan Williams drove in Royse City’s run.

Alex Cooley, Hunter Bulin and Mick Randle doubled to lead the Hawks, who improved to 3-2 in District 10-6A play. Royse City dropped to 5-2.

The two teams are to play again on Friday at Heath.

Forney girls 3

Royse City 0

FORNEY — First-place Forney ran its District 10-6A softball record to 7-1 with a 3-0 win over Royse City.

Forney pitcher Emmie Santos shut out the Lady Bulldogs on four hits. Santos allowed one walk and struck out nine.

Royse City pitcher Abby Mangrum allowed seven hits and two earned runs. Mangrum fanned two.

Kinley Cook had two hits for Royse City, including a double. Emmree Jayroe and Ryleigh Hewlett also had hits as Royse City dropped to 6-2 in district play.

Juliana Tamburine and Ryann Harris both had two hits for Forney.

Royse City, now 18-6 overall, is scheduled to play at home on Friday against Tyler Legacy.

Sunnyvale 1

Caddo Mills 0

CADDO MILLS — Sunnyvale trimmed Caddo Mills 1-0 in District 13-4A baseball on Tuesday.

Sunnyvale pitcher Cole Cornstubble allowed five hits and one walk in six innings with four strikeouts. Eli Grubbs allowed one walk in one inning with a strikeout.

Caddo Mills starter Jayton Mulkey gave up only two hits and one earned run in six innings with five walks and 13 strikeouts. Talon McIntosh struck out three in an inning in relief.

McIntosh and Colt Ponton both recorded two hits for the Foxes and Mulkey had one hit.

Riley Harris drove in Sunnyvale’s run.

The two teams are to play again on Friday at Sunnyvale.

Community girls 10

Caddo Mills 6

CADDO MILLS — Community won the Highway 6 battle 10-6 over the Caddo Mills Lady Foxes in District 13-4A softball.

Alyssa Castillo drove in four runs to lead Community.

Kyleigh Bentley scored three runs to lead Caddo Mills, while Lynleigh Bentley, Taylor Allen, Makenna Daniels, Shelby Pullen and Hannah English drove in runs.

Caddo Mills is scheduled to play next on Friday at Sunnyvale.

Quinlan Ford girls 9

Sunnyvale 2

QUINLAN — Quinlan Ford rolled to a 9-2 District 13-4A softball victory over Sunnyvale on Tuesday.

Jordyn Neustupa, Lillian Barraza and Bailey McAlpin tripled for Caddo Mills and Lillee Walls, Payton Perez and Keely Boyer doubled.

Perez, the winning pitcher, allowed two hits and no earned runs in 6 1/3 innings with two walks and eight strikeouts. Lilliana Ramirez recorded the last two outs.

Winnsboro 19

Commerce 1

WINNSBORO — Winnsboro outhit Commerce 10-2 on the way to a 19-1 District 12-3A baseball victory over the Tigers.

Keldrick Greer and Jordan McMurray had Commerce’s two hits and McMurray scored the run.

Winnsboro pitchers Ethan Arrington, Leon Ackerman and Hoyt Brown combined for 14 strikeouts.

Galen Birdsong drove in four runs to lead Winnsboro and Ethan Young drove in three.

WINNSBORO — Winnsboro jumped out to a 5-0 lead and hung on for a 7-1 District 12-3A softball victory over Commerce.

Allison Medina scored for Commerce. Kaleigh Robrecht, Karis Lewis, Laurann Burrell and Lauryn Bailey had hits.

Winnsboro pitcher Laila Wells homered and struck out 11.

Wolfe City 9

Bland 0

MERIT — Wolfe City pitcher Noah Adams shut out Bland on two hits as the Wolves claimed a 9-0 win in District 12-2A baseball.

Adams walked one and struck out 12.

Matthew Leblanc and Everett Warren had Bland’s two hits.

Wolfe City scored its runs off three hits by Nick Nowak, H.D. Davis and Carson Herron to go with 14 walks and three Bland errors.

MERIT — Bland scored 10 runs in the sixth to complete a 14-4 District 12-2A softball victory over Wolfe City.

Natalyn Luper, K.K. Lopez and Makila Watson tripled for Bland and Kamryn Wade, Watson and Boren-Floyd doubled. Watson and Lopez both finished with three hits.

Lyric Sandlin homered and doubled to lead Wolfe City.

Celeste 13

Campbell 0

Celeste swept a District 12-2A baseball doubleader against Campbell, beating the Indians 13-0 and 16-1.

Aidan Oslin shut down Campbell on one hit in the 13-0 victory. Oslin walked four and struck out nine in four innings.

Oslin drove in three runs and Gavin McDaniel scored three runs.

Levi Gross fired a no-hitter in Celeste’s 16-1 win. Gross struck out eight.

Campbell pitcher Drake Sweeney struck out seven. Sweeney also scored Campbell’s run.

Case Kittleson homered and doubled for Celeste. McDaniel tripled and doubled.

Josh Willis drove in four runs.

Celeste took two District 12-2A softball victories over Campbell, winning 23-1 and 26-0 to go 9-1 in district play.

Madilen Fronterhouse pitched a one-hitter for Celeste in the 23-1 victory. She struck out six.

MaddieClaire Park went 4-for-4 at the plate for Celeste with two homers, four runs and five runs batted in.

Sydnee Dickens also recorded four hits for Celeste.

Jada Garcia fired a one-hitter for Celeste in the 26-0 victory. She walked one and struck out nine in three innings.

Park and Mya Mainord homered for Celeste. Mainord drove in four runs and scored four runs.

Fronterhouse and Scarlett Hawkins tripled and Mainord, Park, Garcia and Peyton Wright doubled.

Martin’s Mill 8

Cumby 5

CUMBY — Martin’s Mill beat Cumby 18-5 in District 18-2A baseball.

Jayden Evans led Cumby at the plate with three hits. Montgomery Benton tallied two hits and Osvaldo Ruiz, Victor Mondragon and Easton Elmore had one hit each.

Martin’s Mill capitalized on eight hits, 12 walks and a Cumby error.

The two teams are scheduled to play again on Saturday at Martin’s Mill.

CUMBY — Martin’s Mill outslugged Cumby 15-10 in District 17-2A softball.

Bella Faulknor homered and doubled for Cumby. Faulknor scored three runs.

Julia Hernandez and Kinslee Dowdle slugged triples for Cumby.

Summer Smith pounded four hits and Dowdle recorded three hits. Hernandez drove in three runs.

Faulknor, who pitched for Cumby, struck out six.

Cumby is scheduled to play at Martin’s Mill on Saturday.
