I mean... That article was...

You would have to be completely inept to have wanted a QB, but talked wanting one up so much that everyone traded in front of you. Does anyone really think that is plausible?

Waste of an article, IMO.

I think if Reddick was gone the QB 's might have been in play. They just had the immediate need of the LB more of a priority.

Gabbert would have been the number 1 qb in this class. Haha

I like the Reddick pick, but I'm not sure if we had an immediate need at LB, especially over QB. Don't get me wrong though, I'm glad we didn't go QB.

I love the Reddick pick, Minter has been a huge liability the last few years. We've added speed, youth and play making ability to a position we haven't had in a few years. Dansby is getting old and I love that he has already talked to Riddick about mentoring him. A huge bonus to having Los on the roster no matter how much he has left in the tank. I know it's unlikely, but part of me would love to see Washington return to form and us move Buc to SS. What a defense that would be.

The Cards brass seems to have fallen in love with their own press clippings when they were called 'innovators' for popularizing a dollar linebacker position. They say the league is moving in the direction of having fast versatile players. I can't imagine that having a bunch of jacks of all trades is preferable though.
You've taken a ProBowl, hall of fame caliber SS in Bucannon and made him into a 210 pound inside linebacker and called yourself a genius. Meanwhile, with Campbell gone and X Williams on the bench, you have the smallest D Line now and a bunch of 5'10" guys in the secondary.
Think of the baddest, most dominant defenses we've seen since the year 2000. They didn't win games by swarming you with a bunch of hummingbirds.

Reddick is the prototypical WILB. Let he and Dansby be ILB's. Golden and Jones are OLB's. Make Buc and Baker your safeties. (!) Peterson and a whole list of guys competing for CB1 and CB2, while Mathieu roams as nickel back. That's a scary defense.

I actually floated the idea of this article during the draft when Reddick fell. I figured they had some defensive prospects rated high and floated all this QB talk around to get people to trade up. It's possible... who knows.. no one ever will unless someone in the FO confirms.

The worst QB in next years class is better than the best QB in this years class.
Sad that people are trying to convince themselves with this statement just because we didn't take a QB.

That being said, I love the Reddick pick a lot.

Has nothing to do with taking a QB. If you chose the top 5 QB's in this class compared to next years class...the #5 QB in 2018 is probably going to be Baker Mayfield...who is definitely better than Trubisky, who was taken #2 overall.

I agree with the last line of the article..."they played the situation perfectly."

Three characteristics of this Cardinal draft class:

- Versatility

- Character/love for the game

- Off the charts speed & other measurables

& after we see these guys in action, we can probably add Field Smarts.

Baker Mayfield? Lol, that's a good one.

I never for once believed that the Cardinals were interested in one of those QBs with the #13 overall pick. To reach for a QB with major flaws that early made no sense. Especially with how much talent there was at other positions in this years draft.

This! The Cardinals didn't like Derek Carr in the late 20s. There's no chance they liked Patrick Mahomes at 13! It's insanity.

Think of the baddest, most dominant defenses we've seen since the year 2000. They didn't win games by swarming you with a bunch of hummingbirds.

The 2002 Tampa Bay Buccaneers were the top defense and won Super Bowl XXXVII with speed and guys considered undersized. Players would often visit the nearby mall Food Court. They were ripped, but (with the exception of Simeon Rice) none of them would scare you if they were walking toward you in a dark alley.

Yes actually hummingbirds did - I was surprised of the small size (short size) of steelers 2ndary that beat us up in the Super Bowl and dominate the NFL- not to mention undersized Harrison who robbed KW's milk money to end the first half!

Too bad the coach we hired from that team went from the runninest coach in the NFL to the passingest coach in history - that is what we call craw daddying in the AZ mountains.

Ike Taylor - 6'2"
Bryant McFadden - 6'0"
Ryan Clark - 5'11"
Troy Palumalu 5'10"

I'd hardly call that a short secondary

And D-Bo Harrison is anything but undersized. He's short by OLB standards, but he's a 270lb bowling ball of fury coming off the edge.
