I obviously haven't seen all International prospects and there is quite a few Americans not listed (for whatever reason). Anyways, NFL Draft is over and I'm ready for NBA Draft now - if you have any comments on rankings, thanks.

Not every prospect will enter and the rankings were based on my opinions, possible draft position (minus underclassmen that don't enter), etc...

Paul Davis, Chris Thomas, Felton and McCants said that they won't enter.

Torin Francis, Giddens and Jarrett Jack are very quiet, it seems to be unlikely that they will declare (Jack would make a huge mistake with entering, IMO).

Why would Villaneuva declare? He is not a 1st rounder.

I'm curious about the methodolgy being used. Some guys are clearly going to be taken higher than ranked here and some have little chance of being taken as high as they are ranked.

Including guys who are obviously not coming out like Frye and Diogu but not including Biedrins and Perovic is very confusing. Most mock drafts focus on whether someon is going to enter which is why Aldridge, Shakur, Simien, Paul, Adams, Francis, Davis, Thomas, Moore, Stoudamire, and others are not listed on most mock drafts.

This is part of the reason that some guys are listed far too low, which is why Arajuo is likely to be taken in the first round. Harrison from Colorado has declared and is likely to go late middle to late first round since he is one of only a couple of college centers coming out.

Other quick thoughts -

- I think Humphries will go ahead of Warrick assuming Warrick comes out at all.

- Gordon will go ahead of Harris

- If he comes out, Jefferson will go late middle while all evidence is that Morris will go to college.

- Childress is unlikely go be in the top ten.

- Jackson and Telfair will go in the first round and Drejer won't.

I don't understand the hype that Andrew Bogut is getting. He should have gone straight into the draft last year with all of the hype that he was getting(cost himself a lot of money going to college). I watched him a lot being from Utah, and yes, he has upside. Is he ready for the NBA, no. Last year He was not even close to being the top Big man in the Mountain west conference. Rafael Araujo Dominated him in the head to heads, both offensively and defensively. There was a big man from Colorado State that Dominated him while healthy as well. If Bogut comes out this year, he may get picked high but he is more then a project. I wouldn't expect him to contribute for a couple of years at least and may end up being another Tskitisvili (sp?).

I was bored - there is atleast (without looking) 30 prospects that won't enter but you just don't know until deadline - so I listed all players, that I've seen. Obviously not ever player drafted will end up where I listed because of players not entering and team needs.

For those that don't know - I collect many tapes and all have seen all players atleast a half a game (or close) - and I do this every year, just for fun. I like to have gamefilm of possible Suns player(s) being drafted and this is a way to share all the time spent watching games. I been collecting Suns games for years as well - I am addict.

If a particular player is rated low - there is a reason: Health, Size, Lack of Athleticism, Position, Overrated (in my opinion), Raw, Youth, Lack of Shooting, Maturity, etc. I could go on - combination of a couple.

David Harrison and Rafael Arajuo will go 1st Round but I feel Arajuo is 2nd Round talent and Harrison is talented but have heard many traits - Maturity, Lack of Work Ethic, Out of Shape, etc. - his biggest strength's could drop some in NBA, as he won't be bigger than most players, although I like Shot-blocking ability. I believe I had Harrison going in top 20 in Mock Draft - this is more of a Draft board. I am no expert.

Telfair might go high but lack of size, jumpshot, his desire to have major minutes, etc. Most of it is just my prospect taste. Atleast this year, I got comments

I've got to disagree. With his size and contribution to the NCAA championship team Villaneuva would certainly go in the first round. With some good workouts he might even go in the lottery.

I don't know. Villaneuva was a benchplayer and he had some OK games and a good one (against Duke) but he was their 6th most important player which doesn't mean that much, IMO.

I wasn't impressed from him at all. I highly doubt that he would be a 1st rounder and with or without workouts I can't imagine how he could become a lottery pick.

He reminds me of a less talented and athletic version of Cabarkapa.

Villaneuva seems more physical than Zarko, but he would be drafted based on potential rather than proven skills. Villaneuva would be crazy to come out this year because he will get a chance to get a lot more visibility next season with Okafor leaving the team. They still have a lot of talent at U. Conn and he could get more thant he late 1st to mid 2nd round position he would get this year.

One of the guys I have a hard time understanding getting such a high ranking is Rashad McCants. He is a 6'4" guard who is not a distributor and lacks a mid range shot. I can't see him going any earlier than late first round and more likely second round.

Three of the premier 3PT shooters with NBA talent:

Luke Jackson: 2.4 3PT made - .44 percent
Rashad McCants: 2.6 3PT made - .41 percent
J.J Reddick: 2.8 3PT made - .40 percent

I do like Jackson but he is a 1 position player and lack of athleticism hurt his ranking a tiny bit. J.J Reddick IMO will need to learn PG ability next year with height and again lack of athleticism (more so than Jackson) and he doesn't have overall skills.

McCants has similar stats to Dwyane Wade of last year - with nearly equal athleticism, size, and the 3PT shooting ability. Wade made about .4 to .6 3Pters at a lower percentage. Just like last year with Wade - IMO McCants can play the PG in limited minutes with the right team. There are a ton of big SG's - McGrady, Bryant, James, Crawford, Iverson, Johnson, Hughes, Barry, Rose, Diaw, Daniels, etc - that McCants could play alongside at PG - while putting stats across the board. Reddick next year - could play PG with these same players but just doesn't have overall game and hurt his ranking this year. McCants' mid-range game didn't appear to be bad the games I've seen but I haven't seen every game.

I agree that Villaneuva would be crazy to come out.

I just don't see how being a good benchplayer in a good team improved his draft status since last year when he was not a 1st rounder.

Here is the Draft City Profile:

Stengths

Very strong with the ball; very good at creating shots for himself; shows vastly improved defensive skills which means that he is coacheable and has a good work ethic; has the potential to be an offensive threat in both the lane and beyond the arc; has ability to take team on his back at times; blocks a decent amount of shots for his size just by using his muscle.

Weaknesses

Has been very lazy in certain games this year (Kentucky); focuses too much on putting the ball in the basket and hardly ever makes the extra pass necessary to beat teams who rotate well; lacks hustle and grittiness; no mid-range jump shot whatsoever; still not an upper tier defender despite improvements he made.
