I like our run attempts this game, keeping them honest. I like Smith as far as he goes. even after THE WEATHER.

at least we are not killing ourself and have a chance late!

Well the weather conditions earlier weren't really conducive to throwing it around.

Beanie took himself out of games at OSU. He was his own game day decision maker. Coincidence? :D

Wrong, unless you're talking about taking himself out for an occasional blow, like every other starting RB in the country. In fact Tressel kept him out of the USC game against Wells's wishes to give him another week to heal and be ready for the Big 10 season.

Nonsense. This is a divisional road game. GET A SHOT & PLAY!!!!!! The rest of the season may not matter. All that matters is TODAY.

Shoot up a hamstring?

(Now there's a definition of nonsense)

Well, I for one am fed up with Beanie Wells. I don't care who held him out--the fact is that he was out. Again. CKW has actually been doing the right thing and letting him run. While he does have talent, he doesn't have durability.

Would you rather have Arian Foster, Ryan Torain, MJD, Jamal Charles, Ryan Mathews, Mike Tolbert, Mike Turner, Felix Jones, Frank Gore, Marshawn Lynch, Ryan Grant, Rashard Mendenhall, Peyton Hillis, Darren McFadden, Michael Bush, Willis McGahee, Knowshon Moreno, Brandon Jacobs, Ahmad Bradshaw, Jahvid Best, Reggie Bush, Ronnie Brown, Pierre Thomas, DeAngelo Williams, Jonathon Stewart, Cadillac Williams, Steven Jackson, or Joseph Addai? Because they have all had significant durability issues and, without researching it, would guess they have all missed a higher % of games than Wells.

Wells hung the team out to dry yesterday. Like PA said, as soon as he was out and with the weather being what it was, I knew this mentally weak outfit would fold like a tent.

What a bunch of crap. The fire wiz chants are still extremely premature, but if this doesnt get turned around and fast the franchise as we know it is going to be blown up.

Ugh I hate this feeling.

Wells didn't hang anyone out to dry what a freakin joke! He did not pull himself thats a coaching decision and quite honestly if we can't beat a bad seahawks team without Beanie we have a long, long season in front of us!

I think that's all anybody needs to know, really. I'm sure he would've wanted to play.

We knew what we were getting with Beanie. A powerful back with durability issues. And that's what we got. We have nothing behind him now and in the future we have Ryan Williams to come in. I don't care if some short-fused fans are done with Wells, I'm personally sick of getting rid of just about every damn talented young player we manage to find and hope we keep Beanie around injuries or not.

Beanie isn't a puss. He plays hurt. The problem is he's always injured. Big difference between being injured and being hurt.

The Seahawks are a team in transition & they are a VERY DIFFICULT team to beat in Seattle. Even with Beanie, this game was going to come down to the wire. Without Beanie, the result was obvious to me.

they're 11-13 over the last three years at home. That's not VERY DIFFICULT by any stretch of the imagination.

Wow Cbus, I really like you, but you just put up a really crap argument. Even Arian Foster, who has had one real season, has done about 1,000 times more in his career than Beanie 'if only he isn't always hurt' Wells. Your list there has a ton of players that have had injuries, true, but have also produced really well and WAY MORE than Beanie Wells.

You're going to lump Wells in with MJD, Charles, Gore, McFadden, Hillis, Bradshaw, and Steven Jackson? EPIC FAIL. And there are even more on there that have played better and more than Beanie...just not on an epic fail level...more of a fail level.

Dude, I get it. Your an OSU homer. Levi Brown went to Penn State, and I really, really wanted to be in his corner. Homerism or not, he sucks. Well, homerism or not, Wells is hurt too often to be effective.

Wells was very productive the last 1/2 of his rookie, when he started getting PT. Last year he had issues but, this year, he is well on his way to having a very good year. If you check, most of those guys came into their own in their 2nd or 3rd year or beyond.
MJD- first 1000 yard year- year 4
Gore- year 2
Charles- came into his prominence week 9 of year 2
Bradshaw- year 4
Jackson- year 2
McFadden - year 3
Hillis- year 3

I don't see how my argument is an epic fail. Wells runs for 1000+ this year and he's right on par with those guys

Cardinals running back Beanie Wells - who, fair or not, has been saddled with the oft-injured tag - insisted Monday that it was a "smart" decision to sit out Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks.

The hamstring pull Wells suffered Thursday in practice was enough, he said, to play it safe and not risk losing more time, especially considering the good start he had in the season's first two weeks.

"It was smart," he said. "We didn't want it to linger. We came to an agreement, collectively, and we thought it was just smart to sit this one out. We didn't want it to go weeks and weeks down the line.

"You know how hamstrings are."

Doesn't look like it took much urging to keep him out.

Conversation:
Wells-"my hammy is good to go"
Whiz-"you're sitting out because of field conditions"
Wells- "i can go"
Whiz- " No, I'm glad we came to a mutual understanding"

Those guys have all enjoyed plenty of success in their careers--Beanie has not had a single 1,000 yd season yet. And you're bagging on them to help your argument with Beanie. Like I said, epic fail. Just repeating yourself with different words doesn't make your argument valid.

I'm not bagging on them. I'm showing how most of them took 2 to 3 years to have the success you're talking about. Why isn't Wells allowed that same time frame? Is he supposed to rush for 1000 yards in year 3 or 4 of his career, prior to playing year 3 or 4 .

Wells rookie year he ran for 793 and 7 TD's, 4.5 ypc
McFadden- 499 4 TD, 4.4
Hillis- 343, 5 TD, 5.0
Gore- 609, 3 TD, 4.8
Jackson- 673, 4 TD, 5.0
Bradshaw- 190, 1 TD, 8.3
Charles- 357, 0 TD, 5.3
MJD- 941, 13 TD, 5.7

MJD is the only one to have a better rookie year.

Second time you referred to MJD. I give. Who is MJD?

I hate all the initials stuff too. Even if it's someone you know well it's easy to overlook them without a solid frame of reference. I'm pretty sure he's talking about Mary Jo Daniels but there's an outside chance he means Maurice Jones-Drew. I doubt it's that one though because his initials really ought to be MJ-D.

I was thinking more like MGD. I like those initials sometimes. But then I'm one of those guys whose two favorite beers are Cold and Free.
