Classic. a game in poo weather, when we could really use him. I dont know if I feel bad for the guy or just want to see him shipped out. How long can you wait to see if he can get a career on track?

Disappointing, to say the least. I'm starting to come around to the injury prone line of thinking on Beanie. I hope we see plenty of Alphonso Smith today. Man, that's a frightening statement.

Kolb's arm is going to fall off by the end of the day.

If Kolb's are falls off after throwing 40 passes then we should just str8 release him come Tuesday.

I say Kolb has a huge game and we go to 2-1.

Go Cards! :newcards:

This is exactly what we got Kolb for. Lets see how he does today.

Every player is 'prone' to injury in a crash sport. Beanie may be injury 'plagued'.

Probably best for Beanie and the Cards. We shouldn't need him today against a really crappy Seahawk team. He wasn't going to be the difference between a win and a loss today anyway, and if he was then we have greater problems. The weather just solidified this decision. He'll get a needed week off and should be ready for the Giants game, where he'll be needed more.

This likely has something to do with the decision.
Exactly. Wells was listed as probable on the injury report. If he wasn't playing because of injury he would have been questionable to doubtful. The weather is why he's not playing. Why chance aggravating a hammy a being out longer?

Thats bunk. It has nothing to do with weather. if you are able to play and healthy enough to play the weather should not matter one iota... He went out warmed up and was probably still feeling tightness. Thus not playing.

Don't have a problem with the logic, but still makes for a really tough game today. Newton went 400+ last week vs. the Packers, but in a rainstorm today in Carolina he currently has 142 yards against the vaunted Jags defense.

Not optimstic you can rely on Kolb to carry us if the weather stays bad the entire game. We will need to be able to run the ball.

Just another poor decision by a terrible coaching staff. Do any of these coaches actually do anything? Seriously ... Terrible playcalling, terrible protection, terrible defense, I mean seriously we just got handled by a pathetic seahawk team! Way to crap the bed cards the more and more we see it becomes apparent Warner took this team to the superbowl in spite of the coaching! Outcoached once again, only this time it's worse it's a division game and by coach rara of all people... What a joke!

That's it. I'm completely fed up with Beanie Wells. He teases with his ability to run the ball, but he is more fragile than a porcelain flower. I am totally out concerning Beanie.

I posted this in another thread, and I think I'm going to be reposting it a lot:

This is not true. His entire career in college and pros he's played through minor injuries.

He's missed 4 games now in the pros of 35, and this is the one you could call a minor injury though I believe CKW held him out because of the wet field where a tweaked hammy could become a very bad injury. In college he missed 3 games.

Even though he suffered from a rash of injuries - a left ankle sprain, a right wrist sprain and a thumb fracture in 2007; a right foot sprain, turf toe, a hamstring strain and a concussion in 2008 - he only missed three games while compiling enough rushing yardage to rank fourth on the school career record list.

If you want to say he gets hurt a lot, ok. That's fair. But he plays through major and minor injuries. He doesn't miss a lot of games.

Gore misses a lot of games. He's probably going to miss one next week. He's good for a few a year to miss, including his hip last year.

It's kind of crazy the heat Beanie is getting for injuries - have a look around the league at RBs...it's a position you get hurt at.

So, you don't think it's more likely to aggravate a pull when the field conditions are slippery .

Using that theory, let's say a RB is coming back from arthroscopic knee surgery and can play but the game is on Metrodome turf but the following week is on grass. Is it smart to rest him one more week, or subject that knee to the pounding of hard turf? He's good enough to play. In reality, guys get held out for situation like these all the time. I wouldn't call it bunk.

Shane is a professional bunkologist. He takes scientific facts and calls them bunk, so of course he's going to take smart decisions like taking field conditions into consideration as uber-bunk.

(I would have held Beanie out myself - I've hurt a tweaked hammy on wet grass personally and it bothered me for months, kept reaggravating.)
