Take aways;

Fells. Doesn't get alot of throws his way, but makes the most of it when he does. Its really good having that huge target who can climb the ladder and grab passes.

This year's rookie class is turning out to be a good one. If the first round pick can get a clue, it would turn out to be great.

This is one of the best offenses I have ever seen in the NFL. Balance, team play, deep. This is the #1 offense and the #5 defense.

I will say, if this were a potential SB preview, not sure this is a team I'd want the Cards to play again. Both teams were missing key players with injuries, but their Dline is stout. By far the best they've played so far; even better than STL, imo.

Powers wasn't so bad...who on our secondary would you throw at if you had a choice?? Does not mean he sucks, just that he is not as good as the other guys....and our secondary is very talented.

Justin Bethel should be on the good list....when PP21 went down Bethel really stepped up and played hard.

this team has a lot of confidence...rather they are behind or leading they just continue to play Cardinal football.... I was one of those questioning their heart a few weeks back.....but the past couple games these guys displayed an ability to play for 60 minutes...an ability to stay focused even when things are not going their way...they have matured as a team immensely in the past month.
It's crazy how good these guys could be. Most folks will tell you that in the NFL if you lose the TO battle you will most likely win the game... apparently that only applies when you are not the Arizona Cardinals. These guys can turn the ball over four times, spot the opponent 21 points and still win it by 10 in the end.......imagine how good they could be if they didn't have those turnovers, lol.

Good write up NJ but I would also add in the bad section the defense tackling on Giovanni Berhnard which was horrible tonight. I try not to single out one person but for some reason we could not tackle him tonight. Lost count of how many times he broke tackles.

Very happy with the win.

If we had lost I would have blamed the poor tackling in general over any one player. This has to improve. That said, it was a great win over a tremendous opponent. Our team if for real.

Any assessment of Powers should include his "hammy" problem as we weren't complaining about his play prior to this nagging injury.

Let's give a little love to Bobbie Massie's pass protection.

The ugly - Refs keeping a drive alive which Cincy later scored a TD. I think it was 3rd and 19 and called a very bad offensive hold that gave them automatic first.

I actually thought (for the 1st time) the refs did a good job. A lot of calls went our way and they didn't really make any game changing calls. I think that hold call wasn't against Golden because they later corrected who it was on, so we really never had a good look at the hold

His "hammy" has nothing to do with his inability to tackle. He had at least 4 that went right through him on plays that should have been losses or minimal gains into big gains.

they changed it to Minter....it was pretty ticky tack...close to non existent really...that call was a game changer...fortunately the Birds overcame it.

The comment on Cat was that if he would have kicked it trough the endzone like he had been doing throughout the game the coverage issue could not have happened.

But it could have been a designed kickoff so I could be wrong about it all together.

Obviously the coverage team cannot break down at critical times. They almost got a turnover even with the breakdown.

I'm happy that that was not a deciding factor of the game. Overall I thought Cat played extremely well.

Powers was the #1 rated slot corner last year.

WTH has happened? Really had high hopes for him but he's had a bad couple of games here.

I was wrong on Freeney. Guy is still capable of doing damage in this league and we signed him at just the right time

Your hammy effects your ability to move quickly and be in a position to tackle.

Defense-Not their best effort but they were going up against a good offense but what puts them in the bad category is missed opportunities. Specifically having Cincy buried in a 3rd and 26 and we let them off the hook to quote Dennis Green. Not to mention the several 3rd and longs and let them live with stupid penalties.

It's really amazing when you watch just HOW MUCH tugging and grabbing and pushing off really takes place on any given pass play. I don't envy the refs because their could be a whole lot more called. But with the rules it's almost a matter of survival for the DB's practically. I noticed Sherman the week before was doing a lot of grabbing. They gotta know how much they can fudge it. This is why saftey play is more critical than ever in the NFL. You have to have the help on any pass, and why our basic three saftey package is so effective.
