Mark Hoppus of Blink 182?

He's seriously underrated. Same goes for Fat Mike of NOFX.

Another great bassist is Joe Principe formerly of 88 Fingers Louie and now in Rise Against.

Claypool, probably my favorite musician regardless of instrument
Tim Commerford
Flea
John Myung
Justin Chancellor (he could be up here even if Schism was his only ever song recorded

What he said. I'll say Stu Hamm as well because the guy just plays some sick stuff that no one else can.

Yeah baby, a little love for RATM

Yeah.. and we must not forget his "bone-crunching" bass playing for Audioslave either... I'm actually starting to like them more, however, still of course rather have both Soundgarden and RATM both respectively reunite, but of course that's an entirely different subject.......

Wow.. it seems that I completely overlooked the genre of Punk... I forgot about Dirnt's solid bass in both "Warning" and "Majority" (would say his best was "Longview" but that was of course before '95)....

I havent listened to Rancid in quite some time, but must do so..... Blink 182 had some excellent bass-lines in their songs.....

I guess my mind recently has been focused on a lot of progressive/metal when I've any discussion of music has come up regarding this past decade...

Definitely another good one that I overlooked... He was awesome with Mr. Big and the other performers he's done session work for.....
