It's why I work out. 
And besides staying somewhat in decent shape, working out also seems to give me more room to eat. I can't believe I finished that whole burger and most of my fries! Of course I was starving after 3 hours of basketball.

The problem
You should really try mixing in a restuarant that's not part of a chain every now and then.
Lenny's, Delux, and any Wineburger in no particular order.

i don't know about the best, but pretty good
I stopped by a place called Freddy's Frozen Custard on the way to work.
Both the double burger and the fries I ordered were good.
First time I had been there and would definately go back.
No I didn't get the custard. Didn't think about it until I was leaving.

A friend of mine told me that Houston's has a really good veggie burger. Not expecting any opinions on that specific item, but has anyone been to Houstons?

i've only been to drinks at the on out here, but had a couple dinners at one in NYC - food was really good - i would always get some kind of steak so I can't vouch for the veggie burgers - but I imagine they would be fine

houston's is awesome. never had the veggie burger, but i'm sure they do it right.
chuckbox on university and mill, Hamburger works on 15th ave and thomas, Fuddruckers!

Anybody from the westside remember "Get a Burger" on 59th and Peoria. It was in a little 50's diner style shop. It is now a Chinese food restaurant. They had awesome burgers as well as home cut fires with the best dipping sauce ever.

Their is one by my place on 51st and Bell. Their steak burgers are good, but a little too salty. However, their frozen custard is so good that you'll never settle for frozen yogurt ever again.

Went to Fatburger for the first time ever tonight. LOVED IT. They have a fabulous Boca burger that was just super awesome. Yum.

First trip to Delux...big mistake. I should have gone long ago...just an awesome burger, for those who haven't been there, make a point to check it out.

Fuddruckers was cool, but i live in Mesa so they went under just like everyone else in this area.
Ooh yeah. $1 burgers with ginormous salad bar type thing to feast on as starving student.

My buddy's friend owns that place. I haven't been there yet but he tells me its the greatest hamburger place in the Valley. The wife and I will be double dating with him and his wife at some point so we can try it.
My wife loves a good hamburger. I only like hamburgers when they are thin. Thick burgers, not a huge fan.
agreed. Or visit its sister, the chuck box in tempe. I grew up by hamburger works and still stop in when I can.
They even have red Barqs.
