After the first wave of NFL free agency, who are the best remaining free agents still available if the Indianapolis Colts want to make another addition or two?
GM Chris Ballard changed course from a year ago, and kicked off the NFL free agency period by signing one of the top cornerbacks in Charvarius Ward and one of the top safeties in Camryn Bynum. Just like that, the Colts' secondary looks completely different than it did a season ago.
Along with those signings, Ballard would bring in Daniel Jones to compete with Anthony Richardson and made some depth additions at cornerback, kicker, running back, and defensive tackle, along with re-signing a few of the Colts' own free agents.
However, as is the case for every other team as well, there are still additions that can be made. Linebacker, defensive tackle, tight end, and the offensive line are all position groups where help is still needed.
Salary cap-wise, the Colts rank 22nd in available space, according to Over the Cap, with $21.07 million. Not all of that will go towards free agency as there are other cap expenses coming down the road- like signing the draft class- but the ability is there to make another signing or two at the right price--so bringing in Teven Jenkins, for example, may not be on Ballard's radar.
Perhaps Ballard will choose to address those needs in the draft, where the Colts do have seven selections. Given the depth of this year's draft at defensive tackle and tight end, that appears to be the path Ballard is going down. But if he wants to make another free-agent signing, here are the top available free agents still out there at some of those positions of need, according to PFF.
