That is bizarre. They're a lock for the playoffs and in the 5th seed now. Something had to have gone down between a player and him or him and a front office person. Absolutely bizarre time to fire him.

Taylor Jenkins was called into the Grizzlies office this morning and was fired in person, sources tell ESPN. Stunning dismissal. Jenkins now becomes one of the top head coaching candidates for the upcoming cycle. He had a .539 winning percentage as Grizzlies coach.

If there is not a significant reason why Jenkins was fired, count me as one. His firing is all very strange, as well as the timing.

There's got to be more to this, right? Wanting to move on from Jenkins? Ok sure, not what I'd do, but I'm not privy to what's happening behind the scenes so hard to judge. Doing it with less than 10 games to go before the playoffs as a 4 seed, fighting to avoid the play-in? Seems insane.
