Bah, they bury us every year then we prove them wrong.

Most football media hates us loves ... any other team in Nfc West. What was the quite 'Worse team ever in the playoffs"

The day Warner quit we were toast in their eyes actually we were toast before that

huh? most people picked us to win the division last year and almost every year since Denny Green showed up, we were the trendy "surprise team" from at least some of the media (who were proved wrong back in those days).

Therein lies the rub, I think. For 3 years (I believe) we were touted to win the NFCW and every year we underperformed and were nowhere near the div champ. I think they've (the media) become gun shy.

and somehow your better?

How can you even think that the players you lost wont be noticed?

If lienhart ends up being good which is possible. Do you really think hell be better than your ex future HOF QB? Even with warner you couldnt beat us.

Weve lost nobody and added depth.

Well be at least 9-7 "Real talk"

Warner...was still very good last year but was unable to throw the rock down-field. Warner is a gunslinger and our offense was not balanced. I prefer a balanced attack.

Beanie Wells showed why he should have been a top ten pick. He has rare explosiveness and vision. Oh yeah, he will give Willis(injury...hmmm) a nice stiff-arm.

Next point. I will take a balanced offense with a solid run game over an offense with a QB(who I love) who no longer could heave the rock. We don't need Boldin. He was replaced by a run game.

Dansby was a good LB. He showed flashes of being very good but it was rare. I'll take our defensive upgrades(Rhodes, Porter, D. Williams, Washington, Schofield and the return of C. Brown.)

One thing that many fail to realize, is that Leinart almost beat out Warner. He is a solid QB. He will not have to do what Warner did and will be more mobile. Warner had a tough time with your D because you are fast and over zealous. Leinart has the calm and patience in the pocket. He will manage the game better than people think.

Peace out...REAL TALK

The 49ers dominated us last season, not because of flukes, but because they were better than us. However, we dominated them the season before that. Consequently, it doesn't seem that one season has much predictive power for the next. I would think that we will end up 0-2, 1-1, or 2-0 against them this season. Completely objectively, I would hope for a 1-1 record, because it would be nice to build a real rivalry with them. Or perhaps, we go 2-0, but in the same game see Dockett or Wilson blow out the knees of Smith and Gore. That may help the rivalry as well.

Because they beat us twice doesn't mean they were better than us!! Cardinals were 10-6, Niners were 8-8. Thus the Cardinals were the BETTER team. There is no other way to look at it.

The funny thing about the 49er/Cardinal rilvary is that one team wins the rilvary. That is crazy. I will give the 49ers their due. They have a good coach in Signletary who is leading them in the right direction. Imo, they are a quarterback away from winning the division. They still have to go through the Cardinals to reach that goal.

The weird thing is, since the Mexico City game (which the Cards won), the Cards-49ers series has gone 2-0 Cards, 2-0 49ers, 2-0 Cards, 2-0 49ers.

Is once again the Cards turn!

It was recently revealed in an interview w/ Chris Miller that Warner had a nagging shoulder injury all season long, which hindered his ability and confidence to throw the deep ball.
First I have heard this confirmed, but simply watching the games during the season it was apparent that something was different in the way the offense was operating.

here is the reality that until I saw the Cardinals do it, you don't appreciate:

going from 7 or 8 wins to 9 or 10 wins is far harder than just the +1 game improvement would suggest.

Why? Because the one or two game difference usually means beating at least one good team outside the division on the road. There is a mental aspect to that challenge that is independent of talent.

The Cardinals have that -- the 49ers have to show that they have it.

They were 2-0 against us. They were better than us. The only games either team had that were under the exact same conditions (such as game time, location, weather, etc.) ended as 49ers wins. Perhaps if we would have played the exact same schedule as they did, they would have made the playoffs. I doubt it, but objectively, the only apples-to-apples comparison you can make indicates the 49ers are the better team.

No, they were better AGAINST us. Two different yet important distinctions.

Not true. The season is 17 weeks long. They may have played better against us. I admit they are a tough team but we one two more games and played the same amount. 10-6 vs. 8-8. Enough said.

They did not dominate us, we turned the ball over a ridiculous amount of times and played terribly and without key players in the first game (which was still close). We were in the post season and won 11 games period that makes us clearly better than a team that won 8 and missed the playoffs...no matter what kind of math you use. Get serious the Niners have proven NOTHING they haven't even had a winning record in years, now we are supposed to believe that since we lost Warner that they are going to dominate with Alex Smith at the helm....what a joke!

They had a 5 turnover advantage against us in the 2nd game and only won by 2 possessions.

That's the mark of a one-dimensional team

Totally flawed logic.

We played a very similar schedule as the Niners and won 3 more games. Winning head to head means nothing; we played them early in the season when we were in a funk and later in the year we had our annual turnover fest.

Sure they won, but 8 times out of ten, we win against the Niners last season.

As of today you guys are clearly the best team but due to recent developments such as the draft and your lose of personal as well as the uncertainty you have with lienart, then I feel we MIGHT now be the team to beat.

Alex is not good!

Never said he was good but If you watch niner games then you will see him make great plays that would indicate that he has the skills but doesnt play consistently.
If either one of us ends up with a good/great QB in the near future then you will see fireworks. Each team has enough weapons on both sides of the ball to make them contenders. Arguably we have more... but I digress. I just hope and pray that lienart ends up sucking cause if he doesnt then there's a very very good chance you not only win the division but a couple games in the playoff as well.
