Bendcardfan's selection of Sublimes self-titled album and JimO's reply influenced this thread since I have distinct memories of listening to that album myself while I became heavily intoxicated...

What albums/songs do you have vivid memories listening to while intoxicated? Mine would be Alice-in-Chain's "Face Lift", Cornershop's "When I Was Born The 7th Time, The Beatles "Revolver", and Red Hot Chili Peppers "One Hot Minute"..

As far as songs.... I'll never forget my friends and I driving home from the poolhall completely wasted (except for the driver) listening to Megadeth's "Crush 'Em" and just shouting the lyrics at the top of our lungs...Lord...those were good times indeed!

In college it was an interesting mix for us.

"Margaritaville" of course, with the added shouts thrown in.

"You never even called me by my name" by David Allen Coe was always popular for some bizarre reason (went to school in Indiana).

Honestly, I can only remember every word to "The Humpty Dance" by Digital Underground when I'm drunk. Don't know why.

In high school, if we had nothing to do and no motivtion to try and THINK of anything to do, we'd hang out in the local K-Mart parking lot, drinking Piels (or some other sh*tty cheap beer), smoking ganj, and listening to Iron Maiden's "Killers" & "The Number Of The Beast", and Priest's "Unleashed In The East".

I still find it hard to believe we never got busted.

My favorite band to listen to with an alcohol buzz is, Flogging Molly.

I love that band.

Used to drop acid occasionally back in college and one of the best albums for a trip was Pink Floyd's Umma Gumma. Just some trippy ass music to bend an already bent mind.

One of the best songs in this condition was "Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered in a Cave and Grooving with a Pict"

We used to theorize what the Pict was yelling about...stupid funny stuff.

Ahhhh....good times.

Dropped acid with one of my buddies once.

We were talking about really fat people losing weight on a new diet program, that centered around masturbation exercise:

Whacking Weightloss.

I've never laughed harder, or longer, about anything in my life. :D

Anything by the Dropkick Murphys if you are drinking. Three Days by Jane's Addiction was a late-night anthem for drugs and camping when I was in high school.

Greatest "non-Buffett" drunk at a bar sing-a-long album?

I'm gonna say Weezer "Pinkerton" The air guitar options alone are priceless! I have a really funny story about this album. Which is one of my all timers anyway. I was out with a good friend of mine and his girlfriend and my wife. Well if any of you guys know a lil bit about me. I'm black. No big deal, but we were out at a real nice bar/restauraunt in one of the heavy partying areas of Philly, South Street. Well all night as we're eating and getting toasted, they're playing mostly hip-hop and r&b. (Jay-Z, Usher, 50 Cent, etc.) So my friend is a huge hip hop fan, as I am. So we're talking about what we're liking, who's better than who, reciting hot lyrics from songs, basically keeping the convo rap related. The night goes on, and right before last call, I'm hammered, so the bartender throws on Weezer, and I go crazy! Me, the bartender, and one of the waiters are singing the whole "Pinkerton" album word for word, doing air guitar and everything! My friend looks at my wife like "what the hell is he doing??" My wife tells my boy that I'm the biggest Weezer fan, and she's gotten into them a little too. As the album is on like the 6th or 7th song, my boy is astonished that I know all these songs word for word! He just sat there with this dazed look, like this can't be the same dude I just had a discussion about the Wu-Tang clan with. I was laughing my ass off as me and the other two dudes stood over him at the table and serenaded him, and the rest of the bar with "Pink Triangle" complete with wicked guitar riffs! That was hilarious!!

The Chronic album by Dre. "Kiss" by Prince. Any Irish rebel songs. "Beautiful Girl" and anything else by INXS. Queen's greatest hits. Fuel. I can't remember the others, probably cause I'm always drunk, but my siblings/cousins and I get drunk at my place and play "DJ" ... everyone gets a turn to pick a song and at the end of the night (usually around 3 a.m.) someone is pissed off at someone else because he or she went out of turn.

Songs I listen to drunk and when I'm on the pitty pot? Tori Amos, David Gray's White Ladder, "Runaway" by the Coors, "Somebody to Love" by Queen

Traditional Irish music with a very heavy dose of punk. A truly great band.

Wow, definitely excellent taste in music right there.....I've always loved INXS' music (seems like yesterday that "One Thing" and Don't Change were in MTV's regular rotation and received ample air-play)... Still saddened by the death of Michael Hutchence and I believe they went on tour with a new singer and I really resent that since he was the essence of the band.... What's your favorite albums/songs by them? I can't narrow down a favorite since anything off of "Kick", "Listen Like Thieves", and "X" were awesome.... The one song I can't stop listening recently by them is "Bitter Tears"...

I also love anything by Queen....They're definitely one of the most underrated bands of all-time......

Anything off of "Kick" rocks. I can listen to that CD for hours. Like "Guns in the Sky" and "Mystify" a lot. "Suicide Blonde" came out right after I dyed my red hair to blonde, so that kicked arse!

Can't really listen to "Never Tear Us Apart" since it was my boyfriend's and my song in high school. We thought we were such rebels cause our parents didn't want us to spend all our time together and we would sneak around. I look back and realize we were just a dork (him) and a beautiful, innocent girl (and that would be me, LOL!).

I just got back home from the bar...Had a few beers for the first time in ages and then went to a nearby grocery store for another 6-pack...Not proud of my binge drinking exploits tonight or anything, but just have to say to list some band that are now cool to LWI to... I'll start with will be my next Album-a-Day, which would be the Minutemen's "Double Nickels on the Dime" album, especially the song "History Lesson-Part II"....

If anyone is familiar with this song and knows the beginning sample of Sublime's "My Ruca" off of their 40 Oz of Freedom c.d., you'd automatically recognize the the line "punk rock changed our lives" before the dog barks on the intro.... Heck.. I'll just post the lyrics to the enire song here....

HISTORY LESSON (PART II)

our band could be your life
real names be proof
me and mike watt
we played for years
punk rock changed our lives
we learned punk rock in hollywood
drove up from pedro
we were ****ing corndawgs
we'd go drink and pogo
"mr narrator!"
this is bob dylan to me
my story could be his songs
i'm his soldier child
our band is scientist rock
but i was e bloom
then richard hell
joe strummer
and john doe
me and mike watt
playing guitar

I was listening to this song nonstop earlier today and kept on thinking about it the entire night...Just very poignant lyrics if you ask me....

Unfortunate that the band I saw at the bar sucked tonight so we had to leave... ahhhhhh

Right now it's 3:45 and I'm drinking to Korn.

But that's just tonight though.

Soil is probably my personal favorite.

God, Soil was such a GREAT band before the lead singer left.

Oh dear god.

From what I've seen you post on here, you would LOVE Soil.

Soil, IMHO, is the GREATEST band to never make it mainstream.

Their sound is one for the ages.

The lead singer left for "reasons of a personal nature" and they haven't been the same.

He WAS Soil.

Check out "Halo" (their biggest hit)

Redefine

Unreal (I LOVE that song)

Breaking me Down (their 2nd hit)

and there is plenty more.

I HATE that there will be no more Soil albums as they originally started.

stupid personal reasons.......
