Holy Sniekey's! Where have I been? Dude...that stuff is awesome! I'm rocking to Halo and Redefine as we speak. Good stuff!

Funny thing...those were the first two songs that came up when I did my search while waiting for your reply. I'm gonna go get the rest of their songs. Unbelievable...thanks man!

um..... HANSON!!

MMMBOP!!!

i like rage against the machine and all the dirty hip-hop/r&b songs that get me all riled up

I HATE Rage Against the Machine.

But only because some of their sales go to the "Free Mumia" campaign.

(Mumia is a convicted cop-killer)

Them and Ben and Jerry's, Sting, and I can't remember who else.

Why would they want to free Mumia?

Sad to say, too little, too late.

There will be no more.

You might want to be careful, once you start you can't stop.

Because they are so deep in the legal system (seething sarcasm) and they know so much more than eye-witnesses that watched him shoot a cop, they feel he was wrongfully convicted.

I HATE them.

To the point that I turn off the radio when they come on.

S**t man...how'd I ever miss these guys?
Sounds like they only lasted a couple years. Too bad the singer has issues...
Again thanks for the suggestions!

I LOVE that song "Unreal"

listen to it over and over.

When their first album came out he wanted "Need to Feel" to be the first release.

He was out-voted and "Halo" was born.

"Need to Feel" is still a great song.

I have never been wasted, I do my best to not put posions in my body that alter my brain, but if I did I would say I would listen to the Lost Boys soundtrack.

I love the Lost Boys soundtrack... especially Echo & The Bunnymen cover of "People Are Strange" along with "Good Times" and "Laying Down The Law" combining both INXS/Jimmy Barnes are my faves from that soundtrack....

Of course..there's else nothing like drinking while listening to the Doors....

Soil is probably my personal favorite.

God, Soil was such a GREAT band before the lead singer left.

I must admit that I don't believe I've ever listened to them myself, but I definitely plan on checking both them and the band (Shinedown) AZ Shocker recommended on another thread and will report back whether or not they're either to me a hit or miss....

That actually stunned me the other day when I read that you hadn't heard Shinedown. Great, great band. Their cover of Simple Man is incredible. Actually (hate to admit this) I like it better than the original. They took a great song and made it powerful. Definitely worth a listen.

Soil will be a hit. If you don't care for them, you were probably just holding your mouth wrong (old redneck expression).

"The Day The Music Died" is a great sing-a-long while drunk song.

Anything by Pink Floyd, Moody Blues are great when stoned.

Hey Jon, I was actually going to start a "Songs you are gauranteed to bust out singing along while you are drunk" thread.

You know, songs that EVERYBODY in the bar suddenly becomes the greatest singer ever and they put their all in to singing.

Songs that for some reason, everyone knows every word.

Those songs crack me up.

If you've ever drank in a bar, you know what I'm talking about.

Off the top of my head, I came up with:

Mony,Mony - (the Billy Idol version)...."get laid"

American Pie - Don McLean (isn't this the song you were referring to above?)

You Never Even Call Me by my Name - David Allan Coe (this may only apply to country listeners, but I doubt it)

Sweet Home Alabama - Lynrd Skynrd (this might be a stretch)

what else?

And yes, I meant American Pie...

I even know the Coe song........(shouldn't the updated version by 'You Never Even Call Me by My Screen Name'?

Excellent way to help expand this thread even further into a newer direction....

I agree with the others mentioned thus far and must add the following:

1) "Blister In The Sun" - Violent Femmes
2) "Red Red Wine" - UB40 version
3) "Roadhouse Blues" - the Doors
4) "Turn The Page" - either Bob Seger's or Metallica's version
5) "Piano Man" - Billy Joel

One of my friends back in MI performed as part of a Dueling Piano combo and it was fun signing along with these songs and many other standards when we were all buzzing.....

Edit: Forgot the most obvious one...George Thorogood....

I listened to Shinedown earlier and will post my reaction under another thread, but still havent check out Soil....

Harley.. you should consider doing a turn at "Album-a-Day" since it seems you're a very hardcore music enthusiast yourself and would have some interesting bands to cover......

Brown Eyed Girl. Van Morrison.

No doubt about it.

You can't say that you have ever been in a bar and had this song come on without singing along.

Classic.

Pour Some Sugar on Me

About 5 years ago my friends and I were in a nudie bar and this song was playing. We were singing along loud enough for the DJ to notice so he turned the volume off during the chorus and it was just us singing "pour some sugar on me."

This also reminds me that I forgot to write a review after seeing Def Leapord play about a week and a half ago.

I'll never forget this one time in band-camp (no seriously).... this one time in which I was in the basement during a friend's house-party and they were all watching Antonio Banderas's "Desperado" upstairs, but I preferred to be alone...
Anyways... I just remained down there listening to the Beatles "Revolver" and spinning around while listening to it.. my friends would once every so often come downstairs and check to see how I was doing....

Later that nite... 2 friends and I (after everyone else had left) were sitting around discussing music... and I just went on a tirade naming all these bands saying how much they "suck", but then just began praising the band Yes....

I guess there wasnt really a point to this....

Also..another story was listening to Garbage's self-titled debut album totally buzzing and I took a shower with all my clothes on and then later squeezed a lot of ketchup, mustard, and mayo all over my head..... Lord.. was I crazy or what? :D

Ok, this is totally off topic, but, whatever! I'm going to post it anyway! :p My oldest is a story teller. I mean, everything she wants to tell us, she turns into a story. Very often, she starts off her stories with, "Um, one time..." and she always leaves a little pause after she says one time. Sometimes, the pause is long enough that I'm just chuckling, thinking, "...at band camp..." Anyhow, carry on...

AbSO-freakin'-lutely! I can't say I've ever heard this song and not sung along!

I also have to add:

Shook Me All Night Long - AC/DC
I Love Rock and Roll - Joan Jett
Wild Thing - whichever remake their playin'
Friends in Low Places - Garth (country)
For us split-tails:
I Will Survive - Gloria Gaynor (this one is for us split-tails)
Hit Me With Your Best Shot - Pat Benetar
I Touch Myself - Divinyls

I agree with anything by AC/DC and Joan Jett are the best to LWI to along with the Trogg's version of "Wild Thing" and any of the popular songs by Ton Loc...

Yeah..I also agree with "Friends In Low Places" along with "the Thunder Rolls" because they were always on the Juke Box every Tues nite when my friends and I would shoot pool and each have our own pitcher of beer (we ran up the highest bar tabs ever, but tipped exceptionally well).....

"I Will Survive"... Even the Cake version is fun to LWI to.....

Pat Benatar... yeah.. that would be a classic if you played a drinking game and had a shot every time she said either shot or fire way....

"I Touch Myself" Don't know whether I should TOUCH that one or not! :D

If you're sad, "Evidence" by Faith No More is a great song.

If you are happy, The Roots album "Things Fall Apart" is good, as is White Zombie's "Astro-Creep:2000." There's also a band called Spearhead who have a great album called "Home" if you like rap with real instruments playing.

At Lake Powell, anything from Tom Petty, Wyclef Jean, Primus, Redd Cross, sometimes Jerry Reid or the Drive-By Truckers, and especially Tin Machine. It's amazing the music that sounds good when you mix camping, booze, and intense heat from the sun.
