Is that the place I tried to take you on your birthday, but it was closed?

Don't think so...didn't look familiar. They aren't open for lunch at all on the weekends though...11:30-2 on Tuesday through Friday and 5-9pm tuesday through sunday.

I loved Sushi for years until last year when my oldest sis and I had experienced food poisoning at a Sushi restaurant while I was visiting her in San Jose, CA.... Since then, Ive avoided like the plague, but I should reconsider since it was just some odd isolated incident....

That one restaurant KoC mentioned isnt too far from where I live either... I'll probably go there on Tues and try it......

I always liked Kanpai on Bell around 22nd st, but I will definitely try Hana Sushi, and soon. Do they have cold soba, by any chance?

When I went to a sushi restaurant in Nara at an off hour, they didn't give me any wasabi. I LUV the wasabi sinus-clearing effect, so I called over the waiter/maitre'd and said, 'no wasabi?' He acted like I was obviously blind, and when he realized there really was NO wasabi, he just lit into the Sushi chef. The sushi chef looked at me grimly with a barely cocked eyebrow, dug around in his stuff, and put a huge scoop of wasabi on my tray. Then he smiled, crossed his arms and watched.

I took a good big dab, put it on a piece of sushi, and popped it into my mouth with a brave smile. That was the hottest ****ing wasabi I have ever had in my life. I thought my brain had been nuked. But I forced a smile, and when done, nodded my thanks (fooling no one) and ate another piece before I had any tea.

Is kanpai next to the Bowling Alley? I used go there before hana opened up.

They have a really good selection I would be surpised if they don't have soba. I never heard of it though.

Soon hana will be the asfn hangout.

Yes, Kanpai is next to the bowling alley. They are a bit slow, but good food.

Soba are the buckwheat noodles, traditionally served either in a broth with tempura sizzling alongside, or cold with dipping sauces.

I love sushi. I usually get eel, conch, octopus, etc. instead of the regular fish ones.

A few years ago my friend had a girl visiting from out of state. We were hanging out in a sushi bar and were all picking off of a tray. When she said that she had never had sushi before I told her to try the green stuff (wasabi) becasue it was really sweet and tasted great. My friend immediately jumps in saying how sweet it is and puts a big glob on the end of a chopstick. The look on her face when she put it in her mouth was priceless.
