Sounds stupid but I wouldn't put it past someone with alot of cap space to offer Diaw 60 million+....a guy who can play at ;east 4 positions and can score, rebound, pass and defend is a big time quailty in this league.

I think its almost inevitable that Leandro leaves after next season. Some GM is going to fall in love with his scoring and not realize what a defensive liability he is nor that Diaw creates the illusion LB can play PG, so they will offer him 6 million. The Suns sensibly won't match - they'd probably say they would to try to get a sign and trade... a draft pick and a TE.

that doesn't sound stupid at all to me. In fact if he gets to restricted free agency next season I would expect someone with a lot of room under the salary cap to offer him $60 million or more.

I think a sign and trade would be fine. Worked well the last time. :raccoon:

I love Leandro and wouldn't give him that much. But if that's his real value, then a sign and trade is probably a good option.

Boris MIGHT get a JJ type attempt to offer more than the Suns might reasonably match, but not Leandro. MLE yes, but more than that means tying up cap space during a period when other free agents are dropping off the market.

From what I've heard from listening to reports, is the Suns will try to get an extension deon THIS summer for Diaw, so they don't end up in a bidding war with another team. They will wait till next summer to either resign Barbs, or work a S&T with him. Diaw is a MUST!!!
