49ers usually are a pretty big draw. I know because their fans all show up wearing Montana jerseys and talk lots of crap.

In 1999, on MNF, the 49ers game was a sellout in Arizona and Steve Young was a knockout.

In 2002 49ers game had 44,051 in attendance
In 2003 49ers game had 40,824 in attendance
In 2004 49ers game had 35,069 in attendance

And the attendance has gone down since the 49ers have gotten worse over the last few years.

Only in Arizona would fans think an average attendance of 40K is a big draw. Give it a rest already - this thread is freaking ********.

Agreed, this whole attendance song and dance is just stupid.

The fact is people are starting to take notice of the Cards despite the local media. They are not going to run right out and buy freakin Cards vs whiner tickets by the droves even if we are 3-0 by then. This gives another televised game to convert the "show me" people.

Most casual fans that will fill the seats at SDS don't even realize the whiners are a shell of their superbowl years. Beat them on national TV with all of the hype that's sure to come and suddenly we are a contender worthy of spending 20 bucks and a Sunday on.

Winning cures all, winning a blacked out game doesn't come even close to winning a nationally televised game. The eggs are in the basket. Let's make sure they are accounted for.

Hey, the game's gonna happen so let's all just enjoy it. We are going to be on national television for the first time in two years and even football fans who couldn't care less about the Cardinals or 49ers are going to tune into the first regular season NFL game played in a foreign country.

It is going to be a great spectacle and one hell of a party! I definitely think it is worth giving up one SDS home game. I think everyone will agree after we've won and shown the world that we aren't "the same old Cards" anymore. :koolaid:
