It's quiche.

NickelBack said:Sure they don't. If this makes enough money it will continue and more teams will be forced to 'volunteer'. Hog wash - 'they don't know if it will continue'.
daytripper said:The Bidwiils are as usual one step ahead of us.
Theyve just created a new marketing ploy.
Cardinal red combat sombreros.
Combine that with micro fiber hot weather ponchos and we could surpass the felons for the market share of logo'd sales.

MadCardDisease said:That's classic. All season ticket holders should wear Sombreros to the home opener.

WizardOfAz said:Good point.
The NFL apprached the Cardinals on this one, not the other way around. The more I read on the subject, I feel this will be a yearly event. If I am right, I much prefer the Cards to volunteer in 2005 rather than some point down the road.
RedViper said:The most prevalent reason, Arizonans largely hate this team, is the belief the team doesn't care about winning.

Scott MS said:RedViper, I think you nailed it here. I was just re-reading some of this thread and I couldn't agree you more. This game clearly indicates to me that Bidwill still doesn't care about winning as much as making a profit.
If he cared about winning, he wouldn't give up a home game.
I was all aboard the wagon the last 2 seasons, drinking the cool aid, thinking this thing is turning around, and this move just frustrates the hell out of me because I'm losing confidence that Bidwill will ever be 100% committed to turning this team around.
I don't care about missing the game. I really just don't want to see the Cards select money over doing what's best to win -- which is playing as many home games as possible.

Right now the Bidwills are spending money betting on the additional income they will get when the new stadium opens. Their portion of that new stadium now stands at better than $100 million. That's coming straight out of the Bidwill's pocket. They better concern themselves about making money or they'll run out of capital and we'll have scrubs from the CFL playing here.
Scott MS said:Winning will bring them the money. If they don't win, there won't be fans in the new stadium. My issue is why jeopardize the long term turn around of this team with a short-term gain by playing in Mexico City?
I see it differently and I also see that I have to pay 20% more in ticket prices this season and get 1 less home regular season game. I think they're getting their money!!

Scott MS said:In business, you have to spend money to make money. I've never seen anybody make money by virtue of not spending any.
The general Phoenix population still thinks this team is a perennial loser (which they have been) and people won't jump on the bandwagon until they start showing committment to winning. I think this season they have shown tremendous committment to winning by:
1. Signing great free agents
2. Coming up with a moderized logo and new uniforms
3. Spending almost all their cap money
4. Advertising a brand new stadium with amenities
5. Hiring Dennis Green and other quality coaches
6. Deciding to have 7 home games and 9 road games, and taking away a home game from their season ticket holders ??
