tomorrow. They wont fire him now. Mac had clearly lost this team by week 8 and they let him finish out the season. Green will be here unless he quits.

And sorry about the headline! :D

I agree. What difference would it make at this point of the season? We can all sit back and watch Green make a bigger ass out of himself the rest of the season.

I prefer it, the season is lost, worst case senario is Pendergast impresses the Bidwills and gets a 3 year deal.

At this point that may be difficult to do!

ha, don't put anything past this team. There's plenty of room to go to rock bottom.

I want to see a player get into a fistfight with Green and throw his helmet at him. Knock him unconscious or something, then the entire cards bench clears and they begin fighting with each other.

That'd be rock bottom, and a pretty damn entertaining sight :D

Fire him now. Fire him later. Whatever. Just fire him before the start of next season. This season is lost either freaking way.

And Big would still be called for a false start

I disagree. With the bye upon us, I seriously doubt if Green isn't axed tomorrow. Mac's team quit on him AFTER their bye week. This Cardinal team had SIGNIFICANTLY more playoff hype than Mac's last team. When you also factor in the new stadium, etc, etc, I think the Bidwill's won't be able to wait until the end of the season. It's not like Bidwill hasn't fired anyone in the middle of the season before.

You could be right, especially since the expectations of this team where pretty high. I still think end of season but I wouldnt be shocked either way.

Now if he isnt fired at all, then I would be shocked.

Yes, Jim Hanifan and he had a winning record with the Cards as I remember.

If this is the case...it's probably because there is no logical choice for interim HC...especially after today's defensive debacle.

Was this post your idea or did you hear this on the radio or TV?

Stat of the Week from Peter King

Record of Dennis Green in his last 56 games as an NFL coach: 17-39.

Record of Rich Kotite in his last 56 games as an NFL coach: 15-41.

Friendly piece of advice to the Bidwill family: find Pete Carroll's cell phone number. And have the most persuasive member of the family use it.

Green's Cardinals are a bizarro team. It's so odd to me that a team can get progressively more talented while simultaneously have worse records in successive years. Right now it's hard to imagine us winning more than 3 more games, which would give Green records of 6-10/5-11/4-12. Right back to where we were when Mac left, with a team that should be much better.

I am not so concerned about Green but what damage he might do between now and the end of the year. He knows he will be gone and the players know he will be gone. So other than money why keep him around? Name an intrim head coach which will let all available coaches know there will be a position opening up. Hire one prior to the draft.Ownership seems to be doing some sort of Kabuki dance with Green. To what end? Demoting him is a lack of class so I would not go that route. You do not want to be known as a team that humiliates its players or coaches. We have enough to overcome as it is.
