It was OK, the first episode is always sort of boring, the introductions all the folks kissing their dogs goodbye only a single challenge. Big brother gets more interesting when you start to have "favorites".

The house was kind of wacky, stairs to no where; lots of color and for now all guests are living dorm style in one room. The "twist" this time is that all guests are playing the game in pairs but everyone thinks that they are the only "couple".

So far the guests seem to include all the usual stereotypes.

Guess nobody is watching this from the lack of posts? I happened to catch the last 20 minutes or so last night switching over from football.

To quote Stephen A Smith quite frankly I was a bit stunned. I've never seen contestants so openly confrontational I was really stunned the big brother folks didn't step in and at least warn if not remove Howie and or Janelle?

Howie was attacking April, insulting her(calling her a fake blond with big boobs as if his buddy Janelle isn't a fake blond with fake boobs), insulting her husband, telling her was going to make a pizza out of her dog. At first it was amusing but it went WAY over the top, even Kayser ultimately apologized for the way things had gotten out of hand.

Janelle quite intentionally started an argument with Bo trying to incite him, went face to face with him and it appeared even poked him in the face (in Survivor I'm pretty sure she would have been kicked off at that point). Then she went to the room and Howie congratulated her and she said how easy it was to rile up Bo. Just proving that the entire confrontation was intentional and planned by her and Howie.

I realize it's a game and they're doing to an extent what the producers want, being interesting, but from what I saw last night it went way beyond the norm I was really surprised.

On the HOH contest, did it seem to anybody else that when Janelle showed her answer upside down, it was 300, and then when she flipped it over suddenly it was 275? 300 was too high and she would have lost, but 275 wound up winning her HOH, I realize they can't fix such a thing the other contestants wouldn't cooperated, but the way it was shown it looked REALLY weird.

They were mean to April but I found it hard to feel too sorry for her. First I don't see how you let someone you don't give a crap about get you so upset. Secondly, April has started every nasty rumor about the guests since the show started. She is the one that convinced the entire house that Ashlea was a threat in the first week, that Michael was a sexual deviant, that James was a lying backstabber (which he is but that is not the point) and that Kaysar was some sort of head on a snake. If she had had her way it would have been her good "friend" Ivette that was voted out last week instead of her "enemy" Sarah.

I don't know what was up with Janelle but both she a Beau have a problem when they drink, they get nasty. As a BB fan that has watched each episode from the beginning, I am finding really hard to like anyone in the house this time and I have never seen TPTB allow such behavior.

I haven't watched it much this year so I wasn't aware of April's history but I still am surprised that BB allowed howie to get that personal. I think his plan was simple he was trying to get her so agitated she either lost it and took a swing at him, or lost it and walked off the show, either way saving Janelle and Kaysar.

I felt the argument with Beau was the same, Janelle was trying to get him to take a swing at her so he'd be removed. She was clearly drunk, I guess he was too I hadn't realized that.

If I had a favorite on the show from so far it would be Jennifer, sure she double crossed Kaysar but from what I saw it really was her "alliance" and not her that pushed that she wanted James out.

I guess they want that sort of stuff for ratings but I was really surprised I kept expecting that Julie would cut off the footage being shown and tell us that due his aggressive behavior Howie was removed.

Really don't like Howie, seems like a complete meathead, and a fake too. I have to admit I'll probably watch more often now having seen last night.

Russ - it is all in how you look at it. They have a very specific rule book that the houseguests have. It is about an inch thick.

1. Did he threaten her?
- No
2. Did he touch her?
- No
3. Was he mean and cruel?
- Yes, but that is not against the rules.

He is using Huricane Howie as a strategy.

The pizza reference was because her dog is nammed Pepperoni.

I have to say that I don't get a chance to catch many TV shows unless I tivo them. And, haven't caught Big Brother much until this season. Sometimes, mindless tv is good.

That being said, that was one of the most awesome episodes of any reality tv show I've ever seen. That was a train-wreck from start to finish.

Howie was on fire. I couldn't believe the verocity at which he was going at April. I thought she was going to have a nervous breakdown. I bet her husband is fuming.

A drunk Janelle was going to kick the living crap out of a drunk Bo. They are both pretty nasty when they start binging.

Kaysar gets evicted right after he's put back in. Jennifer bald face lies to him, swears on her life, and get's semi-ridiculed by the host... and now she's put up for eviction! That's beautiful.

These people will never be the same when they get out of that house.

I have to say I love what Howie and Janelle did. I mean think about it. The other group has preached honesty and blah blah blah and they stab them in the back twice. The second time a bold faced lie EVERYONE heard to get Kasur off.

I hope Howie or his girl or Janelle win HOH again tonight. The other group will start peeing their pants.

When Janelle won I literally jumped up and cheered.

Kasur got stupid getting focused on James (one of his OWN members) off. HE forgot the other group was still after them.

Beau'ring wins HOH. Bye bye one of the S3.

Damn

Yeah I have to confess the primary reason Jennifer was my favorite was looks, can't put my finger on it but something about her I really liked.

I think I read somewhere that they're going to bring one of the players back again, so maybe they're bring her back.

I don't particularly like anybody left in the house.

God howies blew that HOH nomination.

This sucks. I want the friendship group to sweat out another week. Howie needs to bring James into the group. Get more numbers.

James IMHO is the smartest player, he's figured out that being the outsider gives him leverage because he can swing votes. I'm sure this week he'll side with the side in power and then swing back the other way again. Eventually he may go but he's so universally disliked there's a lot of value in keeping him around to the end so you win the vote.

I'm betting it's Howie and Janelle on the block and personally I'm hoping neither gets veto.

FYI Janelle like so many of these "civilians" is an actress. I found this link on a site the other day.

Near as I can tell it was filmed before she was on Big Brother, have no idea if it ever aired on TV.

Janelle is probably a real blonde--she's from Minnesota. Although her shade of haircolor is probably not real ;)

Now you have me 2nd guessing what I saw....When I first read your post, I thought--no, it was April that had it upside down (because she's so damn dumb)...but I don't think she even made it that far. Then I was thinking, no, you're right, because I WANT Janelle to be dumb, because I really don't like her (I know at the time I thought "you're so stupid" when she had it upside down--so it had to be either Janelle or April). Anyway, I wonder if it was closest w/o going over, but they didn't explain it well enough and had to shoot it over? The other thing is, when they said how many lightbulbs it was, Janelle raised her hand like she was the winner, before she ever saw what guesses everyone else had--like she already knew--which would lend to my re-shoot of the scene theory. Very weird. Now I'm gonna have to watch it like a hawk for inconsistencies...

It was Janelle because I was trying to get my girlfriend to watch because they were driving me nuts and she kept saying that show is so dumb why do you care and I kept saying if you'd just watch you'd see how nuts tonight is.
Then I laughed when Janelled had it upside down(and backwards I think) and said "that figures".

It sure looked to me like she held up 300. She could have changed it but Julie clearly told her that her card was upside down and please turn it over, I think the implication was she was out of time and had to display an answer, so changing it would have been against the rules.

I have a good friend who watches the show religiously(I don't) and she said she caught it right away and several of her friends who watch the show saw it too. They said that it appeared to them she might have had 2 cards and changed her mind on which to reveal?

good thought...Yeah, I know it said 300, too. I can't believe I didn't catch that it changed to 275...that's so weird. My husband thinks that maybe she had 275 on the other side of the card???

FYI I found a BB6 message board and first thread I read they said "there was considerable controversy over Janelle changing her vote at the last minute to win HOH" so I'm not the only one who noticed it.

AS I said to get the others to agree to it is implausible so there's no way BB6 fixed the vote. I assume she must have changed it late and they just edited it so we couldn't see her writing a new answer?

So I'm officially obsessed.

According to reality tv magazine they got flooded with emails saying the vote was fixex Janelle changed her answer. They said their review of the replay shows clearly that she had 300 showing upside down when Julie asked for her answer(and April had no answer showing) but that they're convinced she was writing 275 on teh back of that card (as Linderbee said) and that's why when she flipped the card over it said 275.

They also said that Julie Chen was visibly stunned by that and hesitated before declaring her the winner (I didn't notice that but its' not live on the West Coast so maybe that was edited out?).

FYI apparently after Jennifer tossed the HOH key to the ground (because Janelle was in her face waving her finger demanding it), Janelle gave her the finger on live tv. I guess BB6 got quite a bit of flack over that from viewers who felt it wasn't appropriate on the show.

Oh well, at least their explanation on the number deal is plausible.
