Possibilities
My bet it is one of 3 things: Emmitt Retires or Stays, Preseason game in El Paso or Dennis Greens son is coming aboard!
New unis rumor seems plausible. Sonny (the Redbird)'s head on black background looks awesome, but I don't see the Cards sacrificing an automatic psychological home edge by wearing black in the desert - at least til the new stadium is completed.
That said - my guess as to possible presser topics:
- Emmitt (stays, goes or retires)
- Passing of the leadership baton from Bill Sr. to Michael
- New QB coach
- New uni design
- Dennis' son
- Name of stadium (Wouldn't it be awesome if, instead of a corporate sponsor, they named it Tillman Field?)
- Realigned media partnerships (radio, tv, cable)
- I was going to add: "NFL initiates annual televised home game for Cardinals." (Halloween or Christmas) but I have reason to believe that Tagliabue & Co. and the networks aren't thrilled about being hamstrung schedule-wise by Detroit and Dallas on Thanskgiving.
I would agree with these...however the new marketing company out of New Mexico may want to make a splash right out of the gate so the naming rights for the stadium might also be a possibility. Can we not even trade existing players before March 1st? I know we can't sign Fa but a trade can't happen between two franchises? Interesting. I think DG son is coming and Rod Griffeth the saftey will becoming with him after March 1st. Or maybe we are trading for Larry Johnson and we pried Gonzales from the Chefs....not likely....but one can dream.
