I dpoke with my contact from the Cards and he tells me if we were in a playoff race Lienart could play. Warner knows this is he chance to show other teams that he can play. But the biggest news was that L. Davis "Big" wants to move on. His biggest demand aside from money is that he wants to play his natural position which is left gaurd. He doubts the Cards will want to keep him at his asking price and the fact that he no longer wants to play LT the game isn't fun anymore for him.

Thats great news. Davis is smarter than the current coaching staff. i would LOVE Davis as a guard even spending Hutch money for him.

Well, I don't know how reliable your 'contact' is, but last I heard is that Leinart is getting a 2nd opinion, which indicates to me that the injury was diagnosed as more serious than anyone wants to hear. Regarding Big, I hope that his biggest demand is to play LG because I think AZ would accomodate that and that would be his best position and it leaves them open to drafting a Joe Thomas.

Imagine a line that looked like this:

Thomas-Davis-Leckey-Lutui-Wells

Our reliable depth includes:

Milford Brown and any later round rookies and 2nd-3rd tier FAs. I can definitely live with that!

Our Guards are fine. our needs are OT, Cards need to tag him & leave him at LT. But still need to draft a OT in the first or second round to add depth & compete for a starting position.

Well, if we keep Green it should be doable. Green did say that the best lineman on the team gets to pick his position. Git "R" Done.

Didn't Big play tackle in college? Wouldn't that make it his "natural" position? I thought when the Cards tried him at guard it was a new position for him.

Many people believe(including me) he would make a GREAT OG. But he is also a solid OT. His size & strength make him a natural OG mauler.

Lienart is having an MRI today, Warner has two years left on his contract, and Davis came out of college as a tackle and wants tackle money.

Green also said a guy making that much money needs to be at LT. Of course our RT is the most important position now.

A possibility of Green contradicting himself? Nah, couldn't be.

Can we resign him and put a clause in where he is docked $100,000 for every false start? Better yet, maybe we can just throw in a hearing aid.

He said that last season. Leinart wasn't even a gleam in his eye at that point.

True, but he also said that it was his philosophy in regarding the OLine. Do you think that he changed his philosophy because we drafted Leinart?

I thought he did well in Pass Protection again. Only gave up that sack where he was asked to cut the Outside Rusher......let him maul.

I think there are many of us who would like to see Davis at guard. I find it strange out of all the moves we have made on the line we never tried Big at Guard. My guess it is stubbornness on Green's part. He said Davis was a tackle and a tackle he will be.

Davis will sign with one of the Texas teams for less money than we offer.
Mark it sold!

Since he'll more than likely be franchised thats not going to happen.

If the Cards don't franchise him they truly do have the dumbest front office in the league.

Just because he played Tackle in college, that doesn't mean it's his natural position.

Q was a QB in college...

Not exactly. Q was a QB in high school. Went to college as a QB but didn’t get any playing time. Went to coaches and switched to a WR were he played. Started as an emergency QB when others were hurt but played 4 years as a WR. If memory serves me correctly...

I believe you are right. He was a WR first and foremost and drafted as a WR. BIG was drafted as an elite LT.

Okay, but the point is the same. Matt Jones and Antwan Randel El were QBs. John Lynch was a QB.

Fred Wakefield was a...ah, nevermind.

Thats nice and all but BIG was a LT in college and was graded out by all scouts at the time as an elite LT coming out of college. He was hyped up very much like a John Ogden or an Orlando Pace thats how good he was supposed to be anchoring down the left side of an NFL team for a decade. I would have to call it his natural position. Those other guys did it out of necessity in order to have a shot at a career in the NFL. Not Big. He would have had a career no matter which position he played

It is evident now that all of those scouts were wrong. Big just doesnt have the talent to be an "elite" LT. He may want to be a guard and if we draft Thomas I would pay him what he wants as a G and move him over in a heartbeat.

PLEASE LET THAT HAPPEN!

I would love him a guard also, problem is we dont have OT's to make it work, and we have several OG's that are playing solid now.

Tag him, he plays LT next year. We need to take an OT one of the first 2 rounds to add depth & be a possible replacment if Davis isnt extended passed next year.
