Calling a Suns fan a hypocrite for cheering for Bell while condemning Horry might be a fair criticism, but it doesn't change the fact that Horry made a dirty play. It was a nice try at constructing a logical argument though.

You remind me of a Bush supporter who justifies Bush's actions by telling me that Clinton cheated on his wife.

If he would have leaned anymore into that pick, he would have had to use Michael Jackson's patened lean-shoes.

I hope for the sake of the Suns fans, the new Suns coach and his coaching staff don't have the same "weak" mindset as all of you have. If he does, your Suns will NEVER win a Championship.

No one is denying that Horry didn't mean to lean in and foul him hard. But did the refs call anything more than a personal foul???? NO! Cause that's all it was!

For god sakes! This is the Playoffs! Your supposed to play hard! Do any of you remember "The Bad Boys" in Detroit???? What Horry did is NOTHING compared to how they played nightly! But did anybody whine like all of you do now??? NO! It's the freakin Playoffs!!

And funny how you haters out there take stock into what people like Colin Coward or Dan Patrick say. 2 people who have NEVER played an NBA game in their life! But if they say it, it must be true!

But during the game, 2 people who have been involved in the NBA for most of their career either coaching or playing who are calling the game said "Nothing Malicious about that. Just a hard foul." Oh what do they know? They don't have national radio shows. They don't know what their talking about.

I completely disagree. When the meek inherit the earth, the Suns will finally win a Championship. I just hope I can be there to see it...

This thread once again shows the pscyhe and bias of some fans around here. That was a hard pick, nothing more nothing less, and for people to say Horry targetted West's back, what was he supposed to do when West is moving backwards?

When your teammate drives and your man is out to double him, it is absolute necessary to pick your man to free up your teammate, any assertion that the pick was not necessary is dubious at best.

Finally, posters have used the "because it is the Spurs" card as some sort of legitimate argument. Funny that the Spurs were viewed as soft as recently as 2006, then the second they have to play the Suns and a few fouls happened, fans go up in arms and talk about these big bad Spurs as if they have been known to be dirty all these years.

Horry is a dirty player and when he got labeled that, any move he makes is questioned. It comes with the label, do I think it was intentional? Yes. Do I think Horry is a dirty player? Yes.

Your hypocrisy knows no bounds.

Ever read a paper, listen to sports radio, or watch sports television that isnt local? Every talking head and sports reporter that is commenting on this game is saying it is dirty.

Everyone but spurs fans.

Even Byron Scott, who admits he is FRIENDS with Horry, is saying it was intentional and dirty. He even seems ashamed to admit it since he knows Horry so well. How do you have the audacity to say otherwise?

It blows my mind that you can come here and claim all is kosher in spur land. You really need to be ashamed of yourself for being so biased.

Your spur homerism has gone past the points of amusing, frustrating, and annoying -- it is now officially insulting.

Stop typing like a ******* moron and open your eyes to the rest of the sports world that is looking DOWN at the defending champs for their lack of morality and sportsmanship. Be ashamed of yourself and your team, and be vocal about it.

Or piss off, you simpleton.

The most baffling part of Spurs apologists is that they keep spinning every dirty play into a non-issue. Don't you think they would just simply embrace dirty gameplay at this point instead of going to bat for their team and trying to cloud the issue?

I don't see how someone can be a spurs fan and raise a legit family at the same time. They're contradictory. Sort of like mothers who also do porn.

A few fouls? Bowen kicking Amare's heels, Bowen kicking Nash in the groin, and the mother of all, horry's hip checking Nash.

Setting pick and roll is different from the way he leaned forward just as bowen elbowed Amare when he set one, that was intent. Horry who is known to flop at the smallest opportunity bracing himself, wht a joke.
It is a good thing he will never make the hall of fame even with all his rings.

You mean he got a label as a dirty player after one hard foul on Nash? Really? Is it that easy to get a label these days?

Ever read a paper, listen to sports radio, or watch sports television that isnt local? Every talking head and sports reporter that is commenting on this game is saying it is dirty.

Everyone but spurs fans.

The first article I read this morning about the foul said otherwise.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/dailydime?page=dime-080516

Marc Stein said:
We won't know for sure until Monday's Game 7, but it seems safe to suggest that Horry can expect an unfriendly welcome from Hornets fans after Thursday night's fourth quarter, when the unsuspecting David West slammed right into Horry's back screen and absorbed a hard hit to his previously tender back.
Dirty play? Horry is likely to hear that accusation plenty over the next few days, since he had to know West has been playing through a back injury and since he appeared to lean into the contact.
Yet Horry couldn't have known that West was going to leap for Manu Ginobili's entry pass, which appeared to be what caused West to smack so hard into Horry behind him.

What national papers are you reading? Perhaps you can pick up ESPN, I am pretty sure it's not a local San Antonio paper.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=HUh1kJLrYu8

Did you hear anybody talk about a dirty play there? Wasn't Mark Jackson saying that he has no problem with the play at all? A good playoff play? A winning play? Oh right, I have never met a TV in my life.

Even Byron Scott, who admits he is FRIENDS with Horry, is saying it was intentional and dirty. He even seems ashamed to admit it since he knows Horry so well. How do you have the audacity to say otherwise?

Really? The opposing coach said it was dirty? Oh my, then it MUST be dirty, because we all know opposing coaches never ever side with their own teams.

It blows my mind that you can come here and claim all is kosher in spur land. You really need to be ashamed of yourself for being so biased.

Hold on, I have to go watch replays of Chandler flooring Tony Parker of Game 5, apparently, nobody here ever talks about that being a dirty play, because that happens TO a Spurs player, they deserve it.

I know, the Spurs actually played physical with the Suns, they must be dirty. You never hear any other team talking about this. So the Spurs won 4 championships in 9 years, played in dozens and dozens of playoff series, but the second they played a physical series against the Suns, they are labelled dirty. I could have sworn that the opponents is what is constant.

And Horry will never make the HoF because he is a role player.

I'm not a Spurs fan AfroSuns. And thanks for letting me know about Spurstalk. I'm not lecturing anybody about "respecting" the Spurs. Find 1 post where I said that.

As far as Byron Scott's comments to the media, funny how you don't add this little snippet.....

“They’re one of the greatest teams ever,” Scott said. “They’re our model. That’s who we want to be.”
Scott backed West, his star, but deep down he loves the way these Spurs are testing his Hornets. He still talks with such reverence about the ’80s in the NBA, like it was a faraway golden time that is so sadly lost in the modern league. Just last week, he was talking in his New Orleans office about how much tougher, how much nastier, playoff basketball was in those Lakers-Celtics Finals days
“Remember the McHale clothesline on Rambis,” he sniffed. “That was just two free throws.”

Like I said before, god forbid someone played physical during an NBA Playoff game. What would you like the NBA to do about this Suns fans? Not allow teams to play physical? Eliminate defense from the NBA?

hmm, funny, but both colin cowheard and dan patrick disagree with you. they both called it borderline dirty.

what i really liked was cowherd replaying the audio so that everyone could hear the classless spurs fans. apparently the play happens and west is on the ground not moving (according the play by play announcers), the play is replayed on the big screen, and while david west remains unmoving on the floor the spurs fans begin chanting, "horry! horry! horry!" - that's just noooooo class. pathetic.

I have no arguments about the fans that were cheering. Totally classless. The foul though, was merely a foul and nothing more. In fact, if west doesnt crumble in a heap due to his injury i doubt they even call a foul. It was a forward setting a pick that is done 20 times a game and preparing himself for the impact. Horry did not throw an elbow, a fist, or make any threatening gesture. He crossed his arms and got ready to take on a 250+ lb impact. It was a NORMAL play. The only thing that made it abnormal was that west jumped at the same moment and when the contact happened he crumbled from a PREVIOUS injury.

As for Colin and dan patrick saying its cheap. I cannot imagine for one second why a media guy would want to stir up any sort of controversy. Come on. Are you really the gullable and swayed that easily?

Funny how nobody questions whether West really has a sore back ot not. Funny how all the speculation of facking it and cheap plays and bias refs and nba intervention and and and and.... are always pointed at the spurs and lakers as the culprits and the suns as the victums.

You would think a debacle like last year would toughen you up and make you stand up like men and say were standing our ground. Noooooo, just whine whine whine... as losers always do.

I think why people are labelling it dirty is it didn't look like most NBA screens which are staight up, with arms down, and not moving sideways or up into the person you are screening.

I'm sure after all these years, Horry would know how to set a real screen and not one with something extra on it.

Chandler flooring Parker huh? Your a freakin moron Parker was running down the court backwards and his TEAMMATES did not warn him and HE ran into Chandler, that should have been a no call, but yet not in Spurs land they gave Chandler the foul. Your just so much of a Spurs homer you can't even see the ridiculous way your team plays, and the Refs let them. So last night very few fouls called, oh what a shock a Spurs home game and they let them play rough and dirty and have the fewest fouls called in a game this series, YEP sounds about right for the SA Sterns!

It's as simple as this Suns fans, you MUST play physical in the NBA to achieve success. The Hornets coach knows it, hell, he was a part of it in the 80's with the Lakers. Phil Jackson in LA knows it & the Pistons know this. That is why your team fails. Cause your previous coach has had the same "weak, victim" mindset as all of you have. Lets hope your new coach has the brains to know this as well. I for one would LOVE to see the Suns come out and hit the Spurs back!

Your Suns didn't lose to the Spurs last season cause of Diaw & Amare being suspended 1 game for leaving the bench. They were defeated cause your weak coach refused to play the Spurs as physical as they were playing them. Plain and simple. What Horry did to Nash last year WAS a cheap shot. No doubt about it. But what did the Suns do the next game or hell, the rest of the series to let the Spurs know that they werent gonna take that. They did NOTHING!!!! That falls on your weak coach who thankfully for the Suns is now gone. You better hope they get someone with the Testicular Fortitude to step up to physical play and dish it back. If they don't, they will fail.

Look at the history of the league the last 20+ years. In the 80's it was the Celtics & Lakers that dominated. Why? Cause they were physical, and never backed down. The 90's had the Pistons, Rockets & Bulls. Once again, physical teams that didn't shy away from physical play. And this decade, the Spurs & Lakers who do what class? PLAY PHYSICAL. Funny how that works out like that huh? Only the Strong Survive. In that 27 year span, those 6 teams have won 23 Championships! WOW! Who would have thought?!?!

I sure hope one day my Raptors will freakin learn that! What you call dirty, I call Championship basketball. Can you imagine the NBA playoffs without physical play?? BORING.

I'm not a Spurs fan AfroSuns.

I call shenanigans. Among your many posts in another recent Spurs thread, you profess to be a Raptors fan. Yet you haven't posted at all in the recent "Calderon wants out of Toronto" thread. You ARE a Spurs fan.
