I think this week is a huge game for John Skelton in determining what the Cards think of his long term prowess. It's a bitter rival divisional opponent on the road. SF has a pretty good defense and has stymied the Cards in the past. We saw what happned to Hall in his first division road game in Seattle and it wasn't pretty. Skelton has had it pretty light so far in getting two underachieving teams, Dallas and Denver, at home and going on the road to a non-hostile 1 win Panther team. If Skelton continues to show his poise, perform reasonably, and handle the pressure, I think the Cards will consider him a QBOF and not feel the need to have to grab one early in the draft. The Cards don't necessarily have to win but he has to keep showing the promise he has so far. If he does a Max Hall imitation, folds up like a cheap suit, and looks like an overmatched 5th round pick out of Fordham then that will put QB squarely in the Cards crosshairs come round 1 of the draft.
