I'm told besides the #Browns, other teams that were interested in making a trade with the #Bills for Tyrod Taylor were the #Cardinals and #Broncos. #Browns offer of a third-round pick easily trumped what other two teams were offering.

I swear, if they trade the farm for Foles, I'm gonna flip... might have to step away from football for a bit if they do.

Lol no... No they didn't.

Tyrod Taylor and Blake Bortles set QB play back 30 years in that playoff game. He's average at best

Average will be the best QBing they've had, since they re-entered the league. Add a stud, like Barkley, along with Todd Haley...The Browns will make some noise in '18.

He’s better than what they had, by far, are drafting Barkley at #1 and have a legit 1-2-3 punch at wr.

Tyrod Taylor signed a two year extension with the Bills for '17, '18.

Signing him eats some cap space for the Browns.

IMO, this means Barkley first overall with a quarterback at number four.

#AZcardinals weren’t interested in trading for Tyrod Taylor, per source.

I am thinking now that they should/will go w/ Barkley at 1 and Chubb at 4 if he is there. If he is not, then i see them auctioing off the 4 pick for a boat load, most likely to Buffalo who needs a QB for sure. They may have already made a gentlemen's ageement to trade them the 4 as part of todays qb trade.

I would think Browns will draft one of the lesser qbs. They might have their eye on Jackson as their long term qb.

Believe you are right on the Taylor trade just being part of the transaction with the Bills. By announcing the trade now it locks in the later deal for the draft pick---watch that 3 go back to the Browns---plus a bunch of other high picks. Browns should be lined up for a second shot at the FQB next year if whatever combo they come up with this year flames out.

Not sure the hostility toward Taylor---he is a young vet who has improved each year---a dual-threat to run/pass. (Granted, he did indeed have a awful playoff game.)

He's what people are hoping to get out of Lamar Jackson. For a 3, wish the Cards had been in the trade talks (of course we don't have the #1 or #4 pick up for grabs).

Haley and Taylor will NOT mesh. Taylor is not a consistent passer and will have to make some strides to be a legit NFL QB IMO. But, as the Browns will be adding Jarvis Landry to Josh Gordon at WR and presumably Barkley at RB...that offense has the chance to make a very quick turnaround.

Their defense isn't that bad either. Tough thing for them is playing in a tough division. Had they been in the AFC South, they'd stand a chance at actually contending for the division but playing in a division with Pittsburgh, Cincy, and Baltimore is tough.

Don't think so. Idiots if they draft Barkley #1. They signed an ultra expensive screen pass catching SR. Gordon is a time bomb.

I still think they're a lot closer than their record would indicate. At least personnel-wise. I'm not sold on Hue Jackson as an OC, much less a HC, at all. While these recent moves would get my stamp of approval for the most part, replacing the HC and getting a better QB than Taylor would have been moves to make their offseason even more impressive. Dumping Kizer was a nice addition by subtraction but they still have a bunch of mediocrity at QB. Taylor, Kessler and Hogan is about as weak as it gets for a QB corps IMO.

I'm just not much of a Taylor fan and I don't think he's going to suddenly blossom under Jackson/Haley. If he reproduces what he was doing in Buffalo, that's not really much. Really kind of surprised they didn't go after McCarron or a better FA.

This sucks, I was hoping for Taylor as a bridge until the draft pick was ready. CLE had to trade for a QB, no FA was going to pick them.

So now veteran options for ARZ are: Cousins, Foles, Keenum, Bridgewater, Glennon, Bradford but there are still a lot teams in the QB market: NYJ, DEN, MIN, ARZ and now BUF.

If they think TT is the QB who can take them over the top then they're crazier than I am. They will still draft a QB early. IMO

Also the part about an agreement to trade pick to Buffalo? Why not just do it then? Buffalo would be stupid to give up their 2 first rounders until they know who is on the board. It's possible they could get higher then #4 with those two(plus another pick) and get the dude they really want.

Haley doesn't mesh with anyone. Even Saint Warner had problems with his personality. Haley can't even get along with his shadow---it hopes for cloudy skies so it doesn't have to follow him around.

Be curious to see if the Cards made on effort on Taylor--I've seen reports that they were in the mix and also comments that they weren't.

TT is a shorter version of Lamar Jackson at 6'1'. He made All-Pro is 2015 off his passing & running. Has a good TD to INT ratio but, like LJ, throws the flutter ball a couple of times a game. TT has a 5.5 yd/rush and has survived to tell about it.

Wonder if this means the Cards are going to pass on Lamar Jackson now that they passed when Taylor was being offered for trade by the Bills?

I just don’t get trading the first pick of the 3rd for Taylor! Imo dumb.

They had the ammo to select Barkley at #1 then trading the #4 plus whatever else to the Gmen to select the QB of their choice then adding a FA QB to be the bridge.

I know that’s a lot to expect to go right, but that’s what I would’ve tried if I were the Browns.

Agree Taylor is a mediocre NFL QB.
