If Tyrod Taylor is the reason the Browns don't draft a QB at 1, they are the Browns.

He made the pro bowl, but he wasn't an all-pro.Be curious to see if the Cards made on effort on Taylor--I've seen reports that they were in the mix and also comments that they weren't.
TT is a shorter version of Lamar Jackson at 6'1'. He made All-Pro is 2015 off his passing & running. Has a good TD to INT ratio but, like LJ, throws the flutter ball a couple of times a game. TT has a 5.5 yd/rush and has survived to tell about it.
Wonder if this means the Cards are going to pass on Lamar Jackson now that they passed when Taylor was being offered for trade by the Bills?
Sign Bradford AND draft a QB.I say Cousins or Draft QB.
I feel like the people saying "it won't happen" just don't want him, but the reality is, we're going to be bidders, and there's more than a slim chance it happens.
I completely get the same feeling, Solar, and I have had that feeling for a long time. The fact is that all the most respectable reporters are saying that Arizona is in the mix for Cousins, and lately Ian Rapoport has multiple times even argued that his sense is that the Cardinals have a very real chance to sign Cousins. Even the local reporters are not saying that Keim won’t target Cousins.
I would personally rather have Sam Bradford, but I think it would be easy to understand it if they did sign Cousins, and whatever they end up doing I think it is kind of delusional to think they won’t bid for Cousins.

Imo it’s going to take a trade by the Cards unless they want to reach for Rudolph or Jackson at 15. I don’t think either are worth that spot & imo would be a major reach!!!Works for me. After all the smoke clears we should be able to draft a decent QB in round one
I don't think Rudolph would be the project that Jackson will be and if the Cardinals could draft him at #15 it wouldn't be the worst decision ever. I guess it just depends on who the target/acquire in FA. If it's Foles, I think Rudolph would have time to simmer a little and be ready in a year or two. If it's Bradford, he may be pressed into service sooner which might not work out so well.Imo it’s going to take a trade by the Cards unless they want to reach for Rudolph or Jackson at 15. But it would be soooo Cardinalesque to do the above, since the franchise has NEVER picked a stud QB in round 1! NEVER!!!
I think you could say that about most QB's drafted and have a safe bet. Rudolph doesn't jump off the page but "could" he be another Romo/Garoppalo/just has "it" but wasn't highly recruited guy? I don't think that part of it can accurately be predicted so if he's got enough of the physical side of things, he'd be worthy of consideration.Rudolph may be an NFL level QB, but he will never be more than a fringe backup. He does nothing special, and is marginal in many areas. Taking him in round 1 would be akin to taking EJ Manuel in round 1.
Rudolph is not the athlete that Romo / Garappolo / Wilson / Dak were. This is the issue. There is very little upside with Rudolph in terms of ability. He is Mike Glennon.I think you could say that about most QB's drafted and have a safe bet. EJ Manuel is the fear but Roethlisberger/Flacco are the hope(big guys from small schools).
He made the pro bowl, but he wasn't an all-pro.
I think that will go down as a good trivia question. Because that year the only all-pro QB was Cam Newton but wasn't that also when they started doing that bologna where Deion was picking one team and Irvin was picking the other? I mean, I thought there was an all-pro from each conference at every position each year but when they started that reality show version of the pro-bowl it changed it a bit? Thanks for the correction.
Sorry, wasn't comparing what type of QB Rudolph is to those other guys, just that they were small school guys that weren't highly considered, but had "it" on the field. Could see and play the game between the ears. I don't know if Rudolph has that or not but he has the size and physical tools so at least there's a chance that he could put them to use and become a starter.Rudolph is not the athlete that Romo / Garappolo / Wilson / Dak were. Some think they're going to draft a QB. I saw a post trade mock with them taking Barkley #1 and Darnold at #4.I still think they're a lot closer than their record would indicate. At least personnel-wise. I'm not sold on Hue Jackson as an OC, much less a HC, at all. While these recent moves would get my stamp of approval for the most part, replacing the HC and getting a better QB than Taylor would have been moves to make their offseason even more impressive. Dumping Kizer was a nice addition by subtraction but they still have a bunch of mediocrity at QB. Taylor, Kessler and Hogan is about as weak as it gets for a QB corps IMO.
I'm just not much of a Taylor fan and I don't think he's going to suddenly blossom under Jackson/Haley. If he reproduces what he was doing in Buffalo, that's not really much. Really kind of surprised they didn't go after McCarron or a better FA.
I won't be surprised if they still take a QB and if Darnold is still there at #4, they'd win the offseason. My guess is that he won't be and they'll be trading down from #4 and garnering more picks and taking more of a project at QB to groom him. Some think they're going to draft a QB. Darnold has no reason not to be there unless the Giants trade down or take a QB which is possible.I won't be surprised if they still take a QB and if Darnold is still there at #4, they'd win the offseason. Well, if Cleveland takes Barkley, I think it will be unlikely for Darnold to slip past 2 & 3. While I don't think there is an obvious #1 QB in the bunch, I think he's the closest thing to it and between the teams that are actually at 2 & 3 and the teams willing to move up to 2 & 3, Darnold won't last until 4.Darnold has no reason not to be there unless the Giants trade down or take a QB which is possible.
