They have several threads inquiring about Clement. One fan pulled up last years evaluations on each lineman and it lists Clement as being one of the best while listing Shelton as one of the worst. It doesn't take into account that last years line was in total upheaval with Green trying to get his point across about coming in ready to play. They think last years Shelton was the true Shelton and that's why they keep telling us he's essentially garbage. You try and set them straight and they give you crap.
Well let them drool over Clement, I guess.

I hope they take Clement !!! It will serve them right. He was the weakest link on our O-Line for so long .

I'll laugh my ass off if they picked up Clement and put him in LT to protect their golden boy. :D

Trust me, we Bills fans speculate over just about every player - whether they're available or not. There is no way TD will bring in Clement. We already have one overpaid right tackle, we don't need two.

AJZ,
We gave him the nickname of Cement. He is a Giant that looks like he will overpower people, but gets beat like a read headed step child from every DE or DT. I would see people 100Lb's less than him run right through him. If they were a good bull rusher they we would be lucky not to have 2-3 sacks by the end of the game from his side. His real problem came with speed rushers though and they would make him look plain stupid out in the open spaces. Left, Right, Under, and Over it would take a milisecond to get through him. Worst O-Lineman I have seen since being a Cards fan since 1988. Well maybe not that far, but definite bottom 5 material.

That would be hilarious to watch the human turnstile try to play LT for the first time in the NFL.

Wow.....not exactly a glowing endorsement lol. Where did you guys draft him initially? I have only seen a handful of your guys' games over the past few years.

We drafted him in the second round in 98 draft. He showed promised but injured his back and never the same again. I think he had the same type of injury that Kyle Turley minus losing weight.

Oh okay, so he must be pushing 30 then too, eh? I don't think there's any way the Bills do anything with this guy.

Didn't AC also tear his bicep muscle that kept him out 1 year also?

Trust me, you don't want Clement. To think we took him over Flozell Adams

Hey at least you're willing to admit that you don't know much about Cards players. Alot of your fellow fans think they know more about them than we do. All we tried to do was let you guys know Shelton is a good LT and now that Clement is at the other end and they preach to us about the Cards record. They almost had me convinced that we'll never achieve anything here in the desert because we have a litle birdie on our helmet. Forget Greens track record and all the progress he's made in the short time he's been here. Forget about having 2 great drafts back to back. They just hurt our feelings and it's so hard to deal with.

On Clement, the before mentioned arm and back injuries have really hurt his play. He can start on a line that is in trouble, but he will be the guy you will always try to replace. He will get whipped 5 times in a game but grade out adequate on the rest of the day.

If he signs cheap and is surrounded by good players that can help him out he is worth a look, but you wouldn't cut a young prospect to do so. (A veteran depth guy that can play for a short while. Solid citizen and good guy.)

I don't know how accurate this take will be, but I sort of view your team with Dennis Green similarly to the Bucs when Dungy took over. How long did the Bucs toil in oblivion? After their run in the late 70's ('79 maybe?) with Lee Roy Selmon, what did they really do for the next fifteen years? But then Dungy came, they began making smart decisions, they build a dominant defense, and next thing you know they are a super bowl contenders year in and year out.

I have some vague memories of the Cards when they were in St. Louis when they had OJ Anderson and that QB that I always thought reminded me of the 'Bizzaro' guy from the Superman cartoon. Anyway, the point is that you just get the sense that you guys are about to become a very respectable team. Denny Green is a good, solid coach who can evaluate talent. I would not be surprised if you guys come to life very soon and start turning in some winning seasons.

If you are listerning to people comparing Clement and Shelton and saying that Clement is just as good as Shelton then you have a problem.
If you know nothing about them, it might look like that on paper, but NOT in reality. I will admit that there weren't much difference between them last year - with Shelton barely ahead of Clement. The problem was that they were both playing RT - Clement's natural position, but a position Shelton never played before. Clement is big and strong and a serviceable RT, who could start with a good surrounding cast. Shelton on the other hand is much more of a finesse player with ultra quick feet for a man on his size. He's a decent RT (which he played last year and are being judged by right now), BUT he's a very good LT.

IMO Clement could help the Bills, but only if they move Williams to LT and plays Clement at RT. LJ on the other hand could solve all the Bills problems.

"..and in this corner.."

 AJZ, I liked your comments, the respect is mutual..I've lived and died the Cards since '88[i wanted an expansion team], from Gene Stallings through "friends and Family" Puddy Ryan, through Tobin and Mac..Can't remember the Hogs OL coach's name that we hired after Stallings..Dennis Green is our first "Bigtime" Coach who wasn't over the hill, it's not like we've had a Marv Levy to get used to.. LJ Shelton could be a bigtime player if a team could light a fire under him; whatever anyone says about him, he does have talent.. I just don't know about the heart.
Go Cards!!!

C'mon guys, quit giving AJZ a line of baloney. Clement was a good guy, just got on the wrong side of Coach Green, was our bet O lineman, should have gone to the Pro Bowl, ------yeah, that's the ticket.
