There is NO way I give up more than Shelton for Henry. Period. I'm hesistant to pull the trigger on Henry, and I am a HUGE Henry fan, due to the talent likely available to us at the 8th pick in this year's draft at RB. Shelton is a very very good tackle. Even if he doesn't end up starting at RG, he is easily the most versatile and quality back up we have.
Henry's value is down. It is going lower. There are marquis RBs available and the teams that need RBs most have high draft picks with good to great RBs on the board. At this point I balk at giving up SHelton at all.
I say if they want a sixth round pick and a tackle we give them Clement and a sixth. If they are honestly wanting more than Shelton for Henry tell them no and walk away. They will crawl back to us and apologize and even then I'm not sure we pull a trigger on a player for player deal. They are in bad position with the player in the last year of a contract who doesn't want to play for them. We have the stand-up guy who is an excellent football player under a reasonable contract and whom we can use effectively full time, part time or in a back up role next year (someone on that O-line will be injured at least some of the time--thats a given in football).
Its the Bills move. If the Cards are the ones to cave and give up more... that would get me upset. If we make a trade like this without renegotiating Henry it will have to be with the intent of drafting a rookie at #8. Otherwise, we lock up Henry for the next 3-6 years to pull the trigger. I am a big Henry fan, and always have been, but its the Cardinals turn to make another team come to them. I won't be upset to have Henry as our feature back. I wouldn't be upset with Williams or Bensen either.
