I hope the rumors Gambo put out there that we wouldn't be interested in him are completely false. He'd be a perfect fit here.

I think so too. I'll bet Parcells makes a run at him though.

Have you watched any Bills games recently?

Seriously! His days are over. He can't sense a pass rush. After all these years, he should be able to. He holds onto the ball too long and it seems like he fumbles every time he gets hit.

Yeah. I seem to remember they started last year 0-4 then won 9 of their last 12, at one point winning 6 in a row. They beat us too. Bledsoe threw for 20 tds, not that great, but still 7 more than our entire qb corps combined.

Nobody is saying Bledsoe is the bomb here. But he may be the best available for us this year and should be an upgrade over what we had last year.

Yeah, I mean, get real, guys. Yeah, they started out poorly. And yeah, Bledsoe sucked at the beginning. JUST LIKE MCCOWN, AND JUST LIKE US. Unlike us, they rebounded and played well, with Bledsoe at the helm.

Do I want Bledsoe as a long-term solution? No. We need to trade for, sign, or draft, our QBOF. McCown ain't it. Bledsoe can throw the ball deep and find open receivers, the two most important things in our offense. Period.

They went on a winning streak against teams with poor records. Hardly an acomplishment considering the talent on that team. Then, to top it off, they couldn't beat the Steelers 2nd and 3rd string players to enter the playoffs. They are a bully team, when ever they face a good team they fold like a piece of paper.

The Bills also won in SPITE of Drew Bledsoe. It's not like he carried them on his back. The Bills rely on a strong running game and elite defense to win games. If I remember correctly, in that winning streak the Bills defense and special teams came up with huge scoring plays to compensate for a pretty average offense.

Drew Bledsoe is in his 12th year in the NFL. And as Syracuse pointed out, he can't feel the rush, nor move in the pocket to avoid it. He locks onto one reciever and makes some of the worst decisions with the football I have seen from a vet QB in years.

Seriously, watch some Bills games. Ask some Bills fans about him. He doesn't have it any more.

So true.

Statues have a perfect fit at their base.

Also, I would just like to point out that I don't have some vendetta against Bledsoe.

I was actually lucky enough to meet him on one occassion. He is really cool and total class. And I have no doubt in my mind that he would do everything he could to win us games. Not to mention he would be a very positive figure in the Arizona.

But he doesn't have it anymore.

uh - they beat Seattle, the Jets and St. Louis - all playoff teams - and beat Cincy who was decent last year after their bad start. I'm torn on Bledsoe - DG has revived many a career for only a year so part of me says why not - the other part says - he's past his prime.

But honestly - most teams get fat against the bad teams - just look at the Broncos.

they said the same thing about Warren Moon and Randall Cunningham when DG picked them up off the scrap heap as well and took the Vikings to the playoffs.

Seattle was 9-7, St Louis 8-8 and Cincy was 8-8. I'll conceede (sp?) the Jets. But it's not an impressive streak. And that streak was not because of Drew Bledsoe.

I said two days ago that players bring new life to their careers with other teams.

But I have watched Drew Bledsoe and I think it's about time he gave it up.

three out of the four were stil playoff teams - isn't that how you measure what a schedule is like in any particular season?

Did the Jets suck because they only beat San Diego and Seattle? Or how about the Broncos who only beat San Diego and no one else in the playoffs? Or how about Indy who only Green Bay, Minnesota and the Chargers? Or the Falcons who only beat the Rams, Broncos and San Diego? Did those playoff teams all have impressive streaks?

Randall Cunningham was making MARBLE TABLE TOPS before DG revived his career and put him in position to win the MVP.

I do kind of agree you - but DG has worked miracle with guys who HAD big-time talent in the past - I'd just wouldn't rule it completely out IF he signed. I'd still be leery though - that's all I'm saying.

did I argue ANYWHERE that is was? I was merely correcting a falsity in your argument. And during that streak - they weren't just beating people - they were PULVERIZING people - me thinks that in wins - while AVERAGING 34 points a game - they weren't doing all that IN SPITE OF HIM - the QB has to be playing at least somewhat of a role for a team to be consistently putting up those kind of numbers week in and week out.

if we upgrade the line and protect him, plus get a back, he's good enough to win for us. I honestly can't say the same about Josh or any other available FA out there except perhaps Garcia. And I don't know that much about him.

The record of the teams the Bills played in that 9 game streak and beat is 55-89. That includes wins over SF, Miami (twice) and Cleveland.

That is four wins over terrible teams. That is why you put their winning streak in persepective.

And no, beating teams like the 8-8 St Louis who stumbled into the playoffs because of how weak the NFC doesn't impress me.
