My question is this. If you lose 2011? Does the contract extend through 2016 or do we just lose the year and he still makes the same $

Wish I could read how these are worded.

Wish I could read how these are worded.

If they dont play in 2011 they dont get credited for that year on their contract and dont get paid either.

If it is a truncated season in 2011 meaning it gets started late I am not sure how that will work. If the players will just get a prorated portion of there 2011 salaries or what.

But yes, if we dont play in 2011 the deal will actually run through 2016.

And without seeing all of the contract details I cannot comment on how it compares. Need to know how the guaranteed money lays out, how much is signing bonus, how much is roster in any given year all the way to the last year and so concerning the guaranteed money. I do know the 47 mill is if he meets all bonuses and incentives, how much is tied up to bonuses and incentives I don't know. I can only assume that some of it is tied to the newest Cards favorite bonus to use the "workout bonus".

I said this deal would get done many times since the end of last season. I just had a feeling with Wiz and Graves and how they were/are doing business. There is a certain type of player both mentally, physically, and spot in their careers that they just gravitate to and are without a doubt willing to pay what ever it takes. Kudos to Wiz for sitting down with a misunderstood dude and really getting to know the Man that is Dockett this offseason and kudos to Graves for getting this deal done, a deal that needed to be done.

Excellent move. I can't wait to see what 9-0 can do next to Dan Williams. As long as we can sign CC to an extension, we could have the best 3-4 D-line in the league.

Congratulations, 9-0. Hard work pays off.

Concerning this deal compared to Haynesworth.

Haynesworth got by far a better deal. Don't get me wrong Docketts isn't chump change even a little bit.

He gets a raise this year with a lot of guaranteed money coming in the form of escalators, workout bonuses, one 15 mill bonus next season, and semi-guaranteed base salaries against injury and performance. Not sure how much is guaranteed in those base salaries or how they are guaranteed though.

2010 - 4.55 mill in base salaries (this first year salary I do know is fully guaranteed, as for the rest???)
2011 - 2.35 mill base + 250k workout + 500k performance bonus + 15 mill option bonus
2012 - 3.4 mill base + 250k workout + 500k performance bonus
2013 - 4.45 mill base + 250k workout + 500k performance bonus
2014 - 5.5 mill base + 250k workout + 500k performance bonus
2015 - 6.55 mill base + 250k workout + 3 mill performance bonus
