Isn't it refreshing for a change that we aren't talking about any Cardinals coaching changes?

:)

Yes.

Heard on the way home from the game that Rex Ryan will be returning. And he should, I think. They had little talent and he still managed to eek out a decent amount of wins.

It still won't surprise me if Mike Smith gets canned.

Coughlin, Schiano, Philbin, Allen all stay. (Maybe :))

Shanny, Frazier, Schwartz, Chudzinski, Munchak, Garrett(if they lose) are all gone. (Maybe :))

According to Ian Rapoport, the Browns are retaining all the assistant coaches. Can't imagine that won't change though. What HC candidate won't want to bring in at least some of their own staff.

The #Browns are retaining their assistants for now, I'm told. They will search for a head coach with them in place. Makes it interesting.

that makes so little sense.

Coughlin? I don't know. Two Super Bowls, one only 2 seasons ago buys you a lot of teflon.

But he was on the hotseat before winning another SB but these last 2 seasons have been pathetic. They're a talented team, probably the most talent in the division. They underachieved. Mike Smith gets another year. They were besieged by injuries. Losing Julio Jones caused major damage. I see them going RB in the draft. Schwartz is gone. Firing Frazier is a bit unfair considering he's never had a QB to work with. Shanahan is gone.

If Jerry Jones were smart, he'd have Ray Horton on his private jet heading to DFW right now, and would ****can that ancient loser Kiffin Sr and replace him with Horton. But - he's Jerry, so won't happen.

Read something about that this morning. Penn State would be a good move for him.

Schiano is definitely heading back to college, as that is where he's best suited. I don't see PSU hiring him, even though that job is perfect for him. PSU might be interested in Golden from the U.

how much talent do the Giants still actually have? their defense which played so well int he playoffs for them a couple years ago has grown very long in the tooth/lost key players and on offense? they have no good running backs and a terrible O-line.

Didn't think of that. You have a good point there.

Big moving day tomorrow. The axe will be swinging.

Possible candidates to join the unemployment line.

Obvious

1. Mike Shanahan
2. Tom Coughlin
3. Leslie Frazier

Those in Limbo

1. Jason Garrett
2. Rex Ryan
3. Jim Schwartz
4. Greg Schiano
5. Mike Smith
6. Dennis Allen
7. Joe Philbin ( someone has to take the fall for the bully fiasco )

Looks like Bill O'Brien gets the Texans job. Where do the rest come from?

Lovie Smith probably gets one opening. Does Jon Gruden finally pull the trigger? Should be an interesting off season.

No way Coughlin gets canned. I think Schwartz is a goner, as is Garrett if he loses tonight. Frazier is gone, but I actually like the guy. Especially as a DC. The Vikings never quit on the guy. I think he'll eventually get another HC gig. Until then, he'll be a hot DC commodity.

Yep, I've heard Schiano and Golden would be the two targets for PSU. I think either would be a very good hire.

Garrett isn't going anywhere. They may change the coordinators but Jerry still really likes Garrett. Why? I don't know. He's got another year at least.

EDIT:

An ESPN Dallas reporter just posted this:

Jerry on Jason: "We’ve put a lot of effort into training Jason Garrett. I want to take advantage of that. If we don’t have him, we don’t get payback for all the miscues and losses and criticism of sideline management. You don’t get a chance to benefit from the one way you learn - and that is the mistakes you make. So i want to have him around. "

I thought it had to be a made up quote the first time I read it. He won't fire him because he wants "payback for all the miscues". Wow.

Since Cleveland retained their asst coaches does anyone think they might promote Horton to head coach?

Wouldn't surprise me.

They did? Wired, yesterday it was reported the entire staff was gone. Funny how reporters misreport so much.

Horton could be the guy then or maybe Whiz.

Browns ownership may just want to retain the assistants in case their new HC wants any or all of them. Sorta like Michael keeping Horton on until BA was hired.

It could also be a bottom line type decision but it that's the case the Browns are complete idiots.
