I don't know what to say, I won't pay money to go see DA but I'd get upset if I can't watch on TV. (I'd still go if a ticket hopped in my lap) I might buy a ticket if one of the rooks was starting. ;)
i see what your saying, on the other hand, i sat through the tom tupa experience and the buerliein years and many more at sweat devil stadium, i payed my dues you should have to as well:D

The school district I work in got the discount ticket price emails too. The discount really isn't all that much and all it is if you read the fine print is a group ticket discount. You and 14 of your friends could request and get the same discounted tickets to any game. It's not anything that is done special just to get a sellout.

Then why offer the group discount only for Seahawk, Rams, and Bucs games? Certainly not because those were the games that would need the biggest boost to make the sellout.

The team is allowed to give away a certain amount of tickets,....10% if I recall,... but it has to be charitable....usually they give them to childrens groups or schools

Do you have anything that shows the team can just give away 6400 tickets each and every week?

Im not buying it. The NFL is king of cash and with revenue sharing and an average ticket price in the NFL around 75.00 that's a lot of coin.

In the old SDS days you could get cheap tickets from the scalpers trying save their backsides from getting burned. It's not the team that discounts the tickets, it is the secondary sellers. Stubhub is like Ebay is like Bruno the scalper, they all get their tickets retail or from another seller that off loads them. They sell them for whatever they can get. Sometimes there's a profit and sometime you eat it - raw.

You can go on Ticketmaster and actually see the remaining tickets now. All games will sell out easily. If they are short a few 1,000 they can buy them for $0.25/ $1.00 which is well worth it to get it on TV unless you are the Spanos family in San Diego. This is why it is sold out but sometimes you can walk up and buy tickets. The Cards just have to guarantee to purchase any leftovers.

Next year is the issue.

the game is sold out because the Cards had enough season ticket sales to cover almost all of the seats. I don't remember exactly how many they held back for general sale but it wasn't many. Easily picked up by Rams fans or others looking for something to do on Sunday.

Huh? You can still buy tickets on ticketmaster.com. It is not technically sold out. They have guaranteed it because they will buy any leftovers.

Huh? Rams fans or others looking for something to do on Sunday can buy the rest of the tickets on ticketmaster.

Here is another thing to consider:
Tickets in premium club sections have been excluded from the blackout rule in past years, as have unused tickets allocated to the visiting team
