No trade Floyd, or at least that is the constant mindless routine on this forum. Somebody has some inclination for a player in a trade and immediately Floyd is the answer. Somebody asks which players stock has declined, and Floyd is listed. I am just trying to find all the logic in this total under appreciation for Floyd. I'am really confused because people do not want the guy on the team for whatever reason but in a total hypocritical suggestion then say he is great trade bait because he is good but they won't admit it.

Guy cleans up his act but he gets no pat on the back like Honey Badger. Some of our biggest wins with Arians do not happen without Floyd not only playing solid but playing great. Then comes the argument that the guy disappears in games and he will cost money to re-sign. Sure, he will cost money because he is good. Sure he seems to vanish when Palmer is dead set throwing to Brown when Brown has less separation than Floyd and then after forcing the ball to Brown you cannot ignore Fitz gets his chance. I like Brown but I found myself more frustrated with John Brown last year than Floyd. If I had one play in the end zone, my pass would be going to Floyd and of course Fitz before Brown.

Floyd is the most picked on player I have ever seen with the Cardinals who has few faults to warrant the forum's displeasure. It is like this, Larry Fitzgerald is a Hall of Famer and we will never see another like him. Floyd's style of play is the same as Fitz, except Fitz is a legend and comparing anyone to Fitz will make them look solid at best. Floyd is just as good as Rob Moore was. Floyd is just as good as JT Smith was... but because it appears since we compare him to Fitz as a barometer and seem to have this special hate for Notre Dame on this forum, most seem to fail to value him

I like Floyd, I just think someone will over pay him next year.

If we were getting rid of Floyd, we would have drafted his replacement this year. That is what we do now.

I'm with you, the Floyd hate makes no sense.

People talk about overpaying Floyd, but everyone is fine paying fitz 11 mil, which he is no longer worth.

I am going to be pissed if they let Floyd go because we ran out of cap space to keep Larry.

Floyd has never had a consistent season where he just kills it. Part of it is Floyd, part of it is the amount of weapons we have. There is a chance that someone will overpay Floyd, but with the amount of WR talent in the league now, is that really the case? The spread offense in college is screwing up QBs but it is creating more WRs than ever before. I personally love the guy and despite his inconsistency, who else on the team can bring his blend of size and skills? Maybe we lose him to free agency, but there isn't someone on our roster who can fill the role he does in our offense in all the same ways.

I like Floyd & I hope we find a way to keep him at a reasonable salary (10-12 mil/yr). My complaints with him is injury issues, thinking he's worth a max WR salary, not getting great separation & relying on his height instead. He could be a #1 on a lot of teams, but I don't think he'd be a top #1 in the league for any team.

I remember when the Cardinals drafted him and they were running his highlight reel and the first thing I noticed was he never seem to get good separation and I remember thinking why did this guy get drafted this high when he never seems to get separation? I still don't understand why the team selected him. Yes he has proven to be a solid receiver and can have big games however I agree he's not top 5 or top 10 in the NFL at his position and should not be paid that type of money. As far as Fitz is concerned, just go back and look at his catch/run in the GB game last year. That is why you pay him. The best players come up big in the crucial times of a game.

Can say the same thing about any player, who plays across from Patrick Peterson, and any offensive linemen that has ever played for the Cardinals.

This board has very high expectations......not like that is a bad thing.

Michael Floyd is a good football player, he will become great when he is more consistent. Yet, I 100% agree Floyd has won this team a bunch of games over the years. He also had a damn good playoff run last season.

The tipped pass he caught for a touchdown in the Packer playoff game was worth $1mill alone... course, it ain't my money..:)

I like Floyd, he's just not consistent enough.

Bingo. One game he'll make amazing catches, and another game he'll disappear or make huge mistakes. Now, he's become more consistent, to the point that he's usually solid, if not always spectacular. The problem we'll be faced with is how much we'll want to pay for him, and how much he's improved. It'll be a dilemma, no doubt.

Love your passion, Jetstreem! Should be interesting to see what Michael Floyd will accomplish this season and if he can become more Larry-like in terms of RACs over the middle and in traffic. His perimeter game has been his bread and butter, but now he needs to show a stronger command of the entire route tree, if he is going to be considered a #1 WR and one of the top WRs in the NFL.

I'm not blaming Larry. I will blame management though if they don't lock up Floyd.

I am just saying 5 years of Floyd at 26 -31 years old is worth way more than 1 year more of Larry at 33.

disappearing is not all Floyds fault though. There were several games last season when CP was bound and determined to pad JB's stats and he passed up a wide open Floyd to throw to a well covered John Brown...it was frustrating to watch.
if the guy is getting open but the ball aint coming his way you cant really accuse him of disappearing..... show me a game where he was targeted five times but dropped three...then we can hate on Floyd..... hell, even a run of games where he never got open

What are the games where he made "huge mistakes"?

Floyd would be the unquestioned #1 for a half-dozen NFL teams right now. He's going to get paid more—much more—than we're willing to spend next offseason. That doesn't mean we should be mad or underselling him now. It likely means a 3rd round compensatory pick in 2018.

From week 8 on Floyd averaged 80 yards a game and that includes the stinker with Seattle when he was pulled after a half. That led our receiving core during that period.

Over a season that is 1200 yards. He broke has hand at the start of the season and wasn't really right until after the bye.

I think he is going to really surprise you guys this year.
